Fake a Beauty Mark

Change your look with an attractive beauty mark strategically placed on your cheek or neck. Beauty spots bring attention to you and give you an oh-so vintage look. You can fake a beauty mark in a few minutes with tools you probably have already. Dotting your face with an eyeliner pencil looks fake and 2-dimensional; get a realistic 3-dimensional mole instead. Play around with different locations until you find the spot that looks most natural.

Steps to fake a beauty mark

Play around with location by using your eyeliner pencil tip. Dot your face in different spots to help you decide where it belongs. The upper lip, cheek apple and chin are popular spots for beauty marks. (Think Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor!) Prime the skin with a dab of face primer or eyelash adhesive. This creates a slightly raised surface, important for getting that 3-D look. Tap the tip of an orange stock or small eyeshadow brush with the primer. Wait a few seconds, then touch the stick on to the skin in the area you have selected. Dip a small-tipped eyeshadow brush into a dark eyeshadow powder. To keep your fake beauty mark looking believable, you should use a color that suits you. Examine your skin for other marks and try to match the fake one to that color. Not all beauty marks are black in color, some look light or medium brown. Shake the excess powder off the brush, then dot on a fake mole, right in the center of the primed area. Don’t worry that that the mark isn’t perfect. It doesn’t have to be neat to look real. Alternatively, you could blot on a dot of waterproof mascara in dark brown. Set the mole with loose, face powder. For a smooth, finished look, use a soft powder brush and sweep the product on your entire face. The powder veil will make the fake beauty mark seem even more natural.

With a bit of practice, a fake beauty mark will help you tap into your inner glamor girl!
