Detroit Lions Motor City King of the Jungle!!!

Let’s be honest, have the Detroit Lions been over played? Probably, has the Detroit Lions Defensive line been carrying the team! to the point where teams only game plan is stopping the front four, I don’t think so.

The Lions have a very fast Linebacker core lead by Deandre Levy with 59 total tackles and 37 solo, but I believe the real power is in the back up D line with Lawrence Jackson, Corey Williams, and Willie Young. When the starters need rest the team never loses a beat, the team brings constant pressure all four quarter.

As for the Detroit Lions Offense, things have not look this good since the early 90’s. QB Matt Stafford is playing at the top of his game with a passing rating of 95.5 going into week 7, Stafford has attempted 269 passes and 162 complete with 1,912 yards and completing 60% of his passes not to mention his 16 TD’s. Since the 90’s the Detroit Lions have yet to give the Green Bay Packers a run for their money for the top spot, thanks to Stafford and the player who has my vote for MVP Calvin Johnson.

Calvin Johnson is having a really big impact on the National Football League, he has 41 receptions 679 yards with 10 TD’s and we are only in week 7, The Stafford Johnson tandem isn’t a big shocker to anyone it was expected, the Detroit Lions new what the two was capable of but injuries set the team back. Although Stafford suffered a ankle injury in the last game against the Falcons the team is still optimistic and sure that this year will start a new legacy for the Motor City and the Detroit lions. Will the Lions make the playoffs after a 5-0 start? Only time will tell, but if you ask me all I would say is watch out Packers! I’m not saying at all that the Lions are the kind of team the packers is, because the level of play the Packers are at has yet to be matched, even though Lions have shown that they are a young force to be recon with, with a D that didn’t allowed any touchdowns in Sundays game the young Lions still have things to work on, although the Offense has 16 passing touchdowns and 3 rushing touchdowns they often go through a funk and it coses injuries to the Star QB Matt Stafford, but Stafford is a lot tougher this season and the team is feeding off that, if there is one thing i can assure! is the Lions will be a force for the next three to four years but only time will tell if this team will ever be a Super Bowl Champ.
