Creative Ways to Use Mismatched Wine Goblets

Like many people, I have a number of mismatched wine goblets. Some I received as gifts and others were part of a set. I did not get rid of them just because some were broken. Instead I thought of creative ways to use them. I came up with a number of unique and creative centerpieces, candleholders and more. In time I began looking for single wine goblets at flea markets, garage sales and stores, and I began giving my creations to family and friends. Try these unique ways to use your mismatched wine goblets, and turn them into decorative and usable works of art.

Make Unique Floating Candle Displays

I have several dragonfly floating candles that were a gift from my son, and my mismatched wine goblets make ideal holders. I also have three mismatched wine goblets of varying heights. Two are crystal clear, and one is cobalt blue. I lined them up on a black metal candle tray with the blue one in the center. I filled the tray with flat glass marbles and a variety of small sea shells. The unique candle holder display looks fantastic on the center of my dining room table, especially when the candles are lit. Best of all, I never have to worry about the candles burning down too low since the holders are filled with water. The holders no longer look like wine goblets. They look like decorative candle holders from a high-end store.

When using mismatched wine goblets as holders for floating candles, be sure to use distilled water. This will prevent the glass from becoming encrusted with minerals. The water will still have to be changed once a week since dust will naturally collect inside, but maintenance will be fast and easy.

Create a Unique Crystal Mud Planter

My daughter absolutely loves crystal mud. The soft, squishy gelatin-like balls that are about half the size of marbles, and they are also known as jelly balls and Orbeez. In any case they are a lot of fun to play with, but they have uses that go far beyond amusement. When properly soaked with water and liquid fertilizer they make a great soil substitute.

I have three lucky bamboo plants, and instead of growing them in sandy soil and water I am using hydrated jelly balls and two of my mismatched wine goblets. The blue jelly balls look far better than soil, and the lucky bamboo plants are growing better than ever in the mismatched wine goblets. They can be used to grow anything with roots that requires a lot of moisture.

These are just a few of the countless ways to use mismatched wine goblets. They also provide a creative way to display pretty polished stones, faux gems and more. Mismatched wine goblets can also be used to hold and store small trinkets. With a creative imagination, the repurposing options are virtually endless.
