Chasing Amanda by Melissa Foster is on Amazon’s list in the top 100 for fiction. This story got my attention and the attention of apparently many, many others as well. The thrill of this book rivals the best of legal thrillers, which I am most fond of reading. However, Chasing Amanda tugs at the heart in a way that legal thrillers sometimes do not.
The story centers on Molly Tanner, a woman who has the gift of clairvoyance and her feelings of guilt surrounding an abduction and murder of a young girl in Philadelphia. Molly was tortured by feelings of guilt because she felt that she should have prevented the death of the young girl. These feelings resume when another young girl is abducted. Molly becomes determined to find her.
This book is thrilling and exciting, as Foster leads us through a web fraught with pain, disappointment, shock and uncertainty. Foster has done a fine job in the writing of this book. The book was released in April of this year and is Melissa Foster’s second novel. Readers are waiting with eager anticipation for Foster’s next novel. I have enjoyed reading the reviews of others regarding Chasing Amanda. There is a strong applause for this writer and her newest piece of work. The reviews are a testament to the fact that Foster is perfecting her craft of writing fine stories.
It appears that Chasing Amanda is not only my favorite book of 2011 but the favorite book of many people, as Amazon has it ranked in the top 100 for fiction. I have read many books and my favorite genre is a thriller. I love legal thrillers but Foster has introduced me to the complex but enjoyable reading of a psychic thriller.
While I tend to read non-fiction most of the time, every now and then, it is a true pleasure to read fiction and to explore who the top authors are in the fiction category and what they are writing about. Melissa Foster is an up and coming star and she proves that she belongs in the ranks with the absolute best with Chasing Amanda and Megan’s Way, her first novel. Her fans can’t wait to read her next novel. Foster writes page turners and we can hardly wait to turn the pages of her next book. Best wishes to Melissa Foster on the writing of her next book.
