Candy Necklace Party Decorations

What’s the party scenario this time? A child’s birthday? A huge wedding reception? An anniversary party? Does it really matter? You know you’ll be swamped with work to get it all ready. You have to find just the right decorations, make special foods, prepare party favors and more. Isn’t it nice to know that there is a fun decoration you can use for a birthday, anniversary, wedding or most any other occasion? Candy necklace garlands are colorful, cheap, and make adorable decorations at nearly any special party.

Most dollar-theme stores carry candy necklaces but you can also order them online. In fact, when you order them in bulk you’ll pay even less for them than at a dollar store. The necklaces feature small candies on a stretchy string. The tiny candies have colors of yellow, green, pink, blue, white and others. When you use them like garland you create a fun and pretty element for nearly any party.

Drape candy necklaces around the perimeters of tables to accent the table cloths. It’s easy to hang the necklaces using pieces of double-sided tape. Just snip the necklace between two candies, remove a couple of the candies from the ends, then tie a knot in each twine end. Drape the necklaces down banisters to give them a festive look or drape them across curtains.

Make colorful holders for bowls, vases and more by snipping and tying a necklace then rolling it, from one end to the other, to form a large, round disk. These can’t hold hot dishes but they look pretty underneath things which will be sitting on the tables, like candles.

Make a candy candle by snipping a necklace, tying the ends in knots, then attaching it to a pillar candle. Use a straight pin and push it into one knot of the necklace, then into the candle. Spiral the necklace around and around the candle then use a pin to hold the very end to the candle.

You can make the candy necklaces look even more festive by tying on ribbon pieces. Snip a candy off of the twine and tie a ribbon piece to that area. Do this, here and there, along the length of the necklace. You can also use the ribbon technique to conceal an area where two necklaces have been tied together.

Consider using candy necklaces to decorate at your birthday party, wedding reception or other get-together. They look great all over a party room and can be used in many ways to decorate.
