Boxing: Floyd Mayweather Pound 4 Pound “KING”

Floyd Mayweather is back on top of the world. This week when the most recent TOP Rank standings were released Floyd Mayweather was the top vote recipient with 29 first-place votes, nine second-place votes and six third-place votes. Manny Pacquiao the supposive heir apparent to dethrone Floyd Maywether received 15 first-place votes, 26 second-place votes, two third-place votes and one fourth.

I guess the Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight had resounding wave effect ripples across the sport of boxing. All of this equals up to award winning smiles and possible autographs by Floyd “Money” Mayweather and the Money team. Floyd has been telling everyone who would listen that he was the pound 4 pound greatest boxer in the world and boxing enthusiast better start paying attention. Of course if you are a boxing enthusiast and have not recognized Floyd Mayweather as the best boxer in the world by now I challenge your insight. Floyd Mayweather has simply out boxed and out classed every boxer he has ever fought.

I still have respect for Manny Pacquiao but if the Marquez vs. Pacquiao showdown has taught us anything it taught us Manny still has some areas of improvement from his foot work to his defense. Manny Pacquiao’s offense and power is something to be respected and the congressman from the Philippines is well respected and arguably one of the best but being arguably one of the best does not make you the best.

Floyd Mayweather has been the best for over a decade and his record is unblemished. He is a pure champion. What other name do you call a WBC Welterweight champion who has been out boxing opponents for two decades and boast a perfect 42-0 record? Answer: Pound 4 Pound King.
