Best Christmas Gift Ideas for Crochet Lovers

Christmas gift ideas for someone who loves to crochet:

Expensive yarn. Expensive yarn is a wonderful treat for a crochet lover! Last time I looked at qiviut yarn it was $92 an ounce. (Yikes! Even something as small as a scarf would take at least four ounces. Needless to say, I didn’t buy it.) On the other end of the spectrum, SuperSaver 100% acrylic yarn sells for about $2.77 for a seven-ounce skein, but it can be a little scratchy. A suggestion for a nice Christmas gift is two or three (2 ounce skeins) of cashmere or cashmere blend yarn. The yarn is very soft and luxurious- quite a treat- and sells for approximately $10-15 a skein.

A crochet or knitting bag. Everyone who crochets keeps their project in some sort of bag. There are a lot of bags on the market targeted to crocheters and knitters. (It’s OK to use a knitting bag for crochet.) If your crochet lover works on smaller projects and you see a purse-like bag with lots of room inside and a small zip pocket, that would make a perfect crochet bag! Another idea is to buy a large tote bag which can be used as a crochet bag for an afghan.

Subscription to a crochet magazine. I love to look at crochet patterns even if I have no intention of making them. (Well, in the back of my mind I *might* make them in the far-away future.) Popular print magazines are Crochet!, Crochet Today, and Crochet World. Even though there are a lot of free patterns available online, there’s nothing like looking through the pages of a glossy magazine.

Storage solutions. Everyone who crochets has way too much “stuff.” (Collecting yarn is a guilty pleasure for most crocheters.) Some storage solution Christmas gift ideas are decorative baskets and bins to leave out or plastic storage tubs to slide under the bed or store in a closet. If you’re sure of a crochet lover’s needs and tastes, think about buying furniture that doubles as storage, such as end table cubes or an armoire.

Gift Card. If you’re really at a loss as to what to buy, a gift card to a craft store (Micheal’s, AC Moore, or Joanne Fabrics) is a thoughtful gift for a crochet lover. There are also local independently-owned specialty yarn stores in most areas.

Use one or more of these ideas to give your crochet lover a Christmas gift she’s sure to enjoy!
