41-23 Doesn’t Quite Sound like a Showdown

For the sports media and all the Tebow fanatics who thought the Patriots/Broncos (Tebows) would be a showdown, you all were wrong. Way wrong. The football “experts” working the ESPN, NFL.com, and even Yahoo! Sports thought the Broncos had a chance to win and even if they were behind late, they could keep it close, for a possible “Tebow comeback”. Didn’t happen, not even close. The only people who KNEW that the Patriots would win in a blowout, were Tebow’s haters (myself included). We may not be the “experts” nor am I saying that we know more than the people who are hired to evaluate everygame, But we weren’t blinded by Tebow. The haters stayed level headed and actually took in account that its still the Patriots that Tebow was playing, and that the Patriots have a very explosive offense. Denver doesn’t have that. They haven’t had that since Elway won two Super Bowls. To say that Tebow and the sub par offense that Denver has could keep up with a Patriots offense lead by future Hall of Fame quarterback, Tom Brady, is absurd.

I didn’t watch the game. I refuse to watch any game with Tebow involved. From third person prospective, I’m giving all the blame for Denver’s lose to Tebow. Why not? When Denver wins, Tebow is given all the credit, because Tebow is apparently the only person on the team. So when Denver loses, like they did today, Tebow should be given all the credit as well. Now I’ve read from Tebow supporters that say it’s wrong to give Tebow the credit, when it’s a team sport and Denver lost as a team. Why can’t that be said at the other end? It’s a team sport and Denver should get credit as a team for winning, not just credit given to one person. It’s a complete double standard for his supporters to claim it that way. It should be the same both ways, win or lose, it was Tebow’s fault. It shouldn’t be changed when his supporters don’t like what they saw.

I find it interesting that on the same day that Tebow and the Broncos lost, the man who was benched in favor of Tebow, and eventually was cut by the Denver Broncos, won his first game with his other team, in his first start with said team. Kyle Orton, who started his first game, both after being benched by Denver and for his new team in the Kansas City Chiefs, not only won, but he beat the best team in the NFL and last undefeated team in the league. Kansas City winning 19-14 against the Green Bay Packers was led by Orton, and interim coach Romeo Crennel, who coincidentally coached New England’s defense during their three Super Bowl wins.

Hopefully now, the Tebow train will be slowed somewhat, and the “experts” will see that Tebow can’t hang with elite teams. Both his loses come against good teams in the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots. His 7 wins come against mediocre teams at best. And to the people on the bandwagon who know nothing about football. Step off the wagon, and leave the football talk for people who know football.
