Period’s 3 weeks late, bleeding next day after pap smear.?
Q: My period is 3 weeks late, I took a few home pregnancy test and it came out to be negative, so I went to the my local health clinic for a pregnancy test 3days ago. They give me an urine test. They have their own lab next door to the room I was in. I over heard them talking to each other saying they see something on my test but are not sure. So after awhile they came back and tell me it’s negative, so I told them I wanted a blood test, but they told me “NO” and said that I do not need it. And said it will only come back negative anyway. After telling them I really wanted no matter what, they finally give me a blood test and told me to come back in 2 days for result. Yesterday I came back for result, the nurse was taking my temp and every else. She ask me when was my late period, I told her and ask if my report was ready, she was like OH! you are here for your pregnancy report, oh so wait here for the doctor. When the doc came in, she said I’m not pregnant, but she doesn’t have my file on her hand, so I never seen my own report. Only know by them telling me the result of yes and no, nothing else. But my old doctor always give me the paper for my result and explain it to me. Then she want to give me a pap /pelvic exam to see what’s wrong. I through it’s fine as long as they found out what’s wrong. I mention to her that my period was never late before and I have been urining alot lately and I suddenly have lots of ance on my face. She doesn’t seem to care and didn’t really response to me much. During the exam, she said there’s a little blood inside your vaginal area, so I told her I have light spotting on and off, but you can only see it when you wipe with tissue. Then she make comment on my weight, she said there being overweight like me can cause miss period. I don’t see what that go to do with it. Then, she send me to the lab for more testing and told me to come back in 2 weeks for result. At the lab, the nurse didn’t know what to do with me, so she have to go check on the computer, then she make me do the urine test again and draw 2 more tube of blood from me. The whole clinic does not seem to know what they are doing. Anyway, This morning when I woke up, everything was fine until 2 hours later when I pee, there’s lots of blood, but stopped after peeing. Then it has been on and off the whole day not really bleeding heavy, but I know it’s not my period, cause my period doesn’t look like that. The blood were bright red with tiny clots. What do you think, should I worry like crazy now?Even before the pregnancy test, I’m thought I was pregnant cause I have some symptoms like spotting 2 weeks before my period, feel like throwing up, but didn’t, just felt like it even now. And peeing alot and had lots of ance all of a sudden.Even now in the back of my mind, I’m still thinking maybe the result was wrong, maybe I really am pregnant. But she’s the doc and I’m not, so maybe I’m thinking too much.
A: Okay first off unless you are majorly obese it’s highly unlikely that would cause your periods to skip around. I’m overweight and I’ve only missed one period ever and it was due to being pregnant and then losing the baby very early on. It does sound like this clinic is a bit overworked and rather insensitive. You are within your rights to demand to look over your medical file. You can’t generally remove it but you are legally allowed to look over it. Also you are within your rights to demand to know what they are looking for with the blood tests. It does sound like something is going on. Urine tests for pregnancy don’t show how far along it’s a yes or no answer with those. The blood tests may be that you had a very small HcG (pregnancy hormone) in the first blood test but it was such a small amount that they wanted to test again to see if they are going up or down. Up is a pregnancy that is continuing. Sadly if the count is going down it means you were pregnant but the baby died. The bleeding following your papsmear is unusual. Getting a pap smear during pregnancy can lead to a bit of spotting since the cervix is rather sensitive during pregnancy but it sounds like you’re having full out blood flow instead of a bit of spotting.Personally I would take care of yourself and eat/behave as if you are pregnant. This way if you are pregnant you will know that you havent’ endangered the baby’s health. Good luck. I hope you find a better doctor, I would probably smack that idiot if I was treated like that!
Am I having a miscarriage? Please help?
Q: This past Monday I found out that I am pregnant. I was two weeks late for my period and went through the whole month of Jan not recieving it. I was experiencing spotting so I decided to go. I went to this pregnancy clinic in NY and I was so happy when I found out the test was positive. Two lines appeared, the doctor told me the first line meant it was positive and the second meant the test was working right. Later that night when I had come home, I started exeriencing some bleeding. About two days before I went to take a test at the clinic, I saw my brown discharge.spotting was kind of a bit bloody but I had learned that this was implantation/vaginal bleeding. But now it’s different. Ever since I Monday night the bleeding has been different. Like it feels like a period that’s on it’s maybe like third day. I’ve heard that a miscarriage, it’s more like a really heavy flow of blood and you feel extreme pain or get a fever. I haven’t gotten a fever or felt extreme pain. I’ve only been feeling nauseated latey, especially yesterday. The blood is still coming out me, sometimes it feels like it’s a flow because when I pee, this big blob of blood comes out quickly when i’m peeing. I’m scared =/ I don’t want to have a miscarriage. This is my first pregnancy ever and my partner and I are happy. I still don’t have any other pregnancy symptoms yet. Just this blood coming out of me and feeling nauseated–but more like in the evening. Btw on Monday, the doctor had told me I was at least a month pregnant.I know bleeding during pregnancy is normal but I don’t know. I’m so scared this blood could mean something is wrong. I know you can not get your period when you are pregnant, many women mistake the blood for it but every time I bleed, it’s not like i’m starting my period, it feels more like i’m on my second or third day and this increase bleeding has started this past Monday when I found out. Am I still pregnant? I’m not feeling any extreme pain. Is this normal? Am I have a miscarriage? Please help and thank you.
A: Hun,You need to get to a doctor as soon as you can. Implantation bleeding is usually just light spotting. Any heavy bleeding or “flow” is a cause for concern and you should go get checked right away!! I suffered a a miscarriage (they are very common), and I didn’t experience a whole lot of pain, but I did experience a lot of bleeding including clots coming out. Please go see a doctor, I am a little concerned by your description, but I don’t mean to scare you and I sure wish you the best! Hopefully its nothing!
Anyone have any info on breakthrough bleeding issues like mine? Please read my story. Thank you for any help.?

A: Some of these symptoms can also be an indication of a problem like with the pituitary gland (an example only) or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (another example only).I would recommend a consultation with an endocrinologist (a doctor that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders that relate to hormones) if you haven’t already to see what they think could be going on.
