What are the chances that i’m pregnant after two negative pregnancy tests?

Q: My period was about two days late, and it was not like my others. It was mostly light with just one day of heavy bleeding. My cramps lasted throughout the entire period, including 2 days before I actually got it and they still have not yet gone away, even though my period came to an abrupt end three days ago. I just worry a lot and the anxiety was killing me so I took a test two nights ago (about five or six days AFTER I got my period) and it was negative, then took another in the morning (I was told the first urine of the day is ideal) and it was also negative. I know some pregnant women can experience spotting around the time of their period,which may cause them to believe they actually have their period. I just have a really nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach daily that I may be pregnant. I will most likely go to my OB/GYN for a real test, but she is a friend of my mother’s and I would feel uncomfortable doing that and would like to avoid that at all costs.In short,1. I got what seemed to be my period but it was lighter than the previous months and ended abruptly (normally at the end, it is very light for at least 3-4 days, in this case it was light for about 1 day)2. I took two pregnancy tests, both negative3. I have never had unprotected sex but I still get nervous that the condom could’ve broken without us noticing4. I have bad anxiety and I am a pretty typical hypochondriac :-(Any input would be great. thanks so much.

A: Call Planned Parenthood, some of them can do a QUAL blood test or a QUANT blood test. If they do QUANT ask to do this one. It actually reads if you have any HcG in your body. Anything over a 10 is considered pregnant.If it was not a period it sounds like disidual bleeding, which happens to about 20% of pregnant women, and you are right, they think it is a period. It’s a lighter bleed and does not last as many days as a normal/heavy flow period.But you say you have anxiety, and you seem really stressed out, both of these can delay or mess up your cycle causing the odd period.I’d do another urine test in 3 days with my first morning pee or like I stated above have a QUANT blood test done.Good luck.

Q: oki so yesterday i went out and bought a first response pregnancy test. read the instructions and it gave me two ways to take the test the in stream method or the cup method. ( Q #1) so i did the in cup method hoping it would give me a more accurate result encase i didn’t have enough pee to hit the stick or i missed my stream? could this have an affect on the out come of my pregnancy test? I also took the test around 3 in the afternoon could using the test so late in the afternoon caused my test to be wrong.. they say drinking lots of liquids can dilute your results. Is it better to take it in the morning with the 1st pee?? it told me anytime of the day was better?(Q#2) i have herd that there are more false positives than there are a false negative? i am having more and more symptoms like sore and puckered nipples back ache so far nothing more a little sick to my stomach hot flashes and REALLY sleepy /moody nothing more than usual PMS symptoms..i dnt get those symptoms usually but hey i no a woman’s body switches things around from time to time.. another weird thing i have had happen was last month my period came two weeks early and was vary light mostly brown with a little blood and only lasted 4 days.. normal flow usually and only a migraine and lasts 7 days?? A: You’re supposed to either get the test that is 7 days before your missed period or wait until you’ve missed your period….Try First Response (the one that is 7 days before your missed period.)When I tested it was the day my period should have been here and I used a dollar test from the Dollar Tree and it was positive..I of course took more…I took a First Response also…BUT, I had spotted on the 15th and my period was due the 20th so I was pretty sure anyhow…I now have an 8 month old daughter..
