- Brown period or spotting the day after getting Mirena? Pregnancy or normal? please help!?
- Q: I just had my Mirena IUD inserted yesterday. It was the day I should have gotten my period, so the bleeding I had yesterday afterwards, I figured, was just my period. .. . It was very painful, but I'm sure far better then giving birth itself. For the rest of the day I was in a lot of pain, experiencing terrible cramps, and generally feeling lousy. So anyway, my gyno told me that I can expect spotting for the next three months, but I'm wondering what she meant. I had the IUD inserted on day 1 (i think) of my normally 5-6 day period. That day was pretty typical, except that I got it around 5 in the afternoon as opposed to in the morning. After that it changed color and consistency, so I gotta ask this kinda silly question. What, exactly, does spotting refer to? I'd expected that kinda pink-ish inoffensive dilute stuff at the end of the period. Sorry if this is TMI, but it's kinda inevitable given the topic of the post.. I've been experiencing something more like milky brown stringy stuff with a little bit of cloudy pink. It's more the consistency of snot than blood, or even those weird jelly-like clot things during heavy flow. Since the day after insertion it's always brown and ropey. pretty gross. Doesn't have much resemblance to menstrual flow, or even the stale brown blood at the end of the flow. Sooo.. Is this normal? I had unprotected sex a week before yesterday, he pulled out, but I had an orgasm... Could this be a sign of pregnancy or is it normal after getting mirena. I had a pregnancy test done and it was negative, but can you really tell after only a week?THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY WHO TOOK THE TIME TO READ ALL THE INFO I GAVE.You are so helpful and kind.I really appreciate it!
- A: normal .. and cramps
- "period" during pregnancy...TMI beware!?
- Q: this question is to women who have experienced early pregnancy bleeding (commonly referred to as a pregnancy period, even though it is not an actual period). were you able to distinguish it from a normal period? Was the color/texture different?I am 15 dpo, and started period-like bleeding yesterday morning, around the time AF was due. I experienced something i believe to be implantation spotting at 8 & 9 dpo (never had spotting before). I also have countless pregnancy symptoms, especially sore breasts. Excuse the TMI, but my periods have always been 7 days, very heavy, clotty, and a deep red color. Usually on day 2 of my period I am switching pads and tampons left and right, but today i didn't have to at all. It is a mucus-ey slime, a light pinkish-reddish color. The color is what threw me off, it's like raspberry, and the texture is not at all the same.if i were to test tomorrow, would i get accurate results?did anyone else experience something similar?thank youi have suffered a miscarriage before, however, the bleeding for a miscarriage is reverse. that sort of bleeding is dark, heavy, and clotty, and comes with a lot of cramping.
- A: yeah, you should get an accurate reading. if it says neg then you need to go get checked out. an infection (like bacterial) will also mess with your period. good luck!
- Serious responses only. How do I get rid of the post pregnancy pooch?
- Q: MOST Women have what I refer to as a "pooch". It is that wonderful excess of fat under the waistline. Now, I have had 2 kids and really need to get rid of the pooch. What do you recommend to do to lose the fat.I eat between 1000-1500 cals a day. Exercise 5 times a week (cardio, weights, spot training) and have barely lost any inches. Is there something that you have done that works to get rid of the pooch? Thanks!
- A: Hi There:It could be that you're not eating enough believe it or not.1000 to 1500 calories a day is a huge range. Probably 12-1400 calories per day would be better. Your body is probably clinging to any excess fat becuase it's not certain when it will be fed again. You need to eat just enough so the body will release the fat but not so much that you don't lose at all. Keep in mind that I'm not sure how tall you are or how much you weigh so I really can't advise you on how much you should eat.Try a program like Weight Watchers. Kick your cardio up a notch. When you hit a plateau it's likely that you need to shock your body a little with more cardio. That's what I'm doing and it's working really well. My "pooch" is shrinking but that excess skin....well...you probably know what I'm talking about. If your skin elasticity is good then you're a lucky woman! Before kids I would have said "go for a tummy tuck". Now that I have a kid I would say there's no way I would take such a risk for vanity's sake when a child is depending on me to be around for some time. Good Luck! I know it's hard but you can do it. :)
