Is this doctor an idiot?
Q: So I have this weird spitting problem; I feel like it comes from the back of my throat and it chokes me so I have to hack it up constantly throughout the day.I go to this doctor and ask why this could be happening and he says you have acid reflux. He tells me the symptoms; heart burn, stomach pains, etc. I have NONE of these symptoms!I ask him how can I have this problem if I have absolutely NONE of the symptoms! He says you don't have to have them. What the hell? And spitting up mucous is not a symptom of acid reflux. Things are not adding up here I tell him! And then he says, and I QUOTE, the acid comes up your esophagus and your saliva glands near you mouth get "scared" so they produce extra mucous to coat the sides so that it does not get damaged. What the #$@#$%@%$%#!!!!!????My THROAT gets "SCARED"!? Since when does my throat sense emotions!? Umm is the not your BRAINS job!? Wouldn't MY BRAIN sense that I have too much acid in my stomach and produce extra mucous THERE!? It just makes no sense!!!!!!!! I feel like I am going crazy!!! Am I smarter than this doctor??? What the @#!@#!@!?!!!!???This doctor seems to think 0 + 0 + chair = 4It's just CRAZY!Is he right, or just plain stupid!?
A: i have acid reflux and it doeasn't sound too much like my problem although i do know that extra mucous comes in addition to the acidthe chances are the doctor made amistake so try checking out another doctor (i think what he meant by the throat bieng "scared" is that the brain reacts to the acid and try to protect the throat as the acid is burns and therefore produces mucous)but this could still be the early symptoms of it, i dont get many bad pains like heart burn or stomach pains! check it out somewhere else any way and if you do have it reduce citrus fruits or acidic things!=]
