What can I do for severe period cramps?
Q: Every time i get my period I get really bad cramps and extremely sick. I have gone to the doctor a few times and tried different varieties of painkillers, but nothing is enough. I have heard the pill helps, although my mother is taking that as the very last option. Would that be the best way, what has worked for you?
A: Unfortunately many women go thru this every month. I used to get cramps so bad I would faint. Your Gyn should really make sure there is nothing wrong. After years of suffering, the found out I had cysts on my ovaries and they would pop, causing the pain. They also found adhesion’s, and my uterus and bladder were stuck. I would recommend heating pad or hot water bottle. I read that someone told you to take Aleve (naproxen) which is fine, but also mentioned 800mg’s of Motrin (ibuprofen). I would take one or the other 3 days before my period started. Do not take them both. They are in the same class of medications (nsaids) non-steriodal anti-inflamatories. Be sure to have food in your stomach before taking either. These actually help with inflammation, where tylenol and narcotic pain medications just help the pain sometimes. I ended up going on the pill after trying herbals, pain meds etc. The pill helped the most. My Mom wasn’t too thrilled about putting a 13 year old on the pill, but was glad after she saw the results.Good Luck! I got migraines also every month.Rx Tech
How do you get rid of Severe Period Cramps?
Q: im 14,And i have such bad period cramps,i can’t go to school walk or even have fun with friends!,It”s unbearable every month.Ive tried, teas,Advil,Midol,Motren, hot packs,Hot baths and even hot tubs,(which work for bout 10 mins) .Im getting my mom to make me an appointment with the doctor,But till then what are some other things that may help severe period pains.
A: Avoid caffeine… get extra potassium (bananas, ginger). Seriously. One simple and cheap way to help with cramps (it’s also by *far* the quickest and the most convenient and natural way) is having an orgasm by masturbating. It doesn’t work for *all* women, but it does help most… and for many, it can get rid of cramps entirely for several hours. It makes no profits for anyone’s company or its stocks, and it involves something to do with “sex and masturbation” taboos, which is why you won’t ever read about it in the newspapers (although Cosmo and mags like that do bring it up now and again): but the truth is that orgasm is absolutely *the* single most effective relief ever known for uncomplicated menstrual cramping.http://www.epigee.org/menstruation/sex.html”… an orgasm can cause your uterus to contract, enabling it to use up excess prostaglandins in the process. Prostagladins are hormones produced by your uterine lining. They help to stimulate contractions that move menstrual blood out of the uterus, and are also responsible for those cramps that occur throughout your period.”http://www.kadir-buxton.com/page8.htm”Primary Menstrual Cramps can be a debilitating problem for some 10% of women. Conventional treatment can even be as drastic as exploratory surgery whilst looking for a cure. A less intrusive solution is available. Orgasm from masturbation has been found to relieve the painful symptoms of menstrual cramps. Whilst it is not always convenient to masturbate for the necessary five minutes until the pain subsides, hands free masturbation is still possible. In order to do this one simply has to clench and then relax the vagina repeatedly for five minutes. With this method no one need know of the discomfort being suffered, and the pain soon goes. “http://organizedwisdom.com/Masturbation_and_Menstrual_Cramps”The flexing and contracting of an orgasm basically relieves the cramp. Reduces the intensity of the cramps. Also eases some of the other symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.”
SEVERE period cramps, what can I do?
Q: I know this must get asked a lot..I am 19, and have been getting my period since I was 13. This past year, for some reason, my periods have been so painful that its unbearable. The pains are constant, I’m always doubled over in pain, I get terrible diarhea (sorry if thats too much info haha) and am constantly sweating from the pain. It’s getting to the point where it’s really effecting my life. I usually have my period for 5 days, and I feel this way for ALL five days. It’s brutal. I mean, I was seriously just at my boyfriends house for a romantic dinner.. we sat down..and before I could even eat the cramps started and I literally had to go home. These cramps are effecting everything I try to do.I’ve tried so many pain medications and my gyno doesn’t seem to be able to find something wrong. I’ve also been on about 5 different BC pills…nothing has helped. Does anyone have ANY advice??
A: Yoga and strenuous work outs as really helped my friend as well as Kegel workouts. I would go see your doctor also to make sure you don’t have ovarian cysts.
