Am I pregnant after having a miscarriage over 4 weeks ago?
Q: I had a miscarriage when I was 5 weeks, 3 days pregnant. I only bled for 4 days. I went to the doctor a week after the miscarriage and my hormone levels were at 0. So I had a full, natural miscarriage. Its now over 4 weeks later and I am having some of the same symptoms from when I was pregnant. My breast are tender, I am very tired, I get sick in the middle of the night… I have taken two EPT and they are both negative. My husband and I only had to try for one month before becoming pregnant the first time. We started trying again 2 weeks after the miscarriage. Has anyone experienced this before? Do you think I might be pregnant? Overall, what do you think?
A: Usually when you have a miscarraige the doctor will instruct you not to get pregnant until you have had 2 normal periods. I think that you may just be having period symptoms. I know that when I miscarried I had a pretty bad period after the miscarraige. I too felt as though I was still pregnant but I wasn’t.Just hang in there. If you are not pregnant I would advise you to wait so that you are not trying to fill the void from the first miscarraige. You both need time to get over what happened and then it is a good time to start trying…
I’m between 5 and 6 weeks pregnant. When do I tell people?
Q: I’ve read several blogs and websites. I’ve also already had a full miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy (none successful). I had spotting the entire time with thosepregnancies. With the current pregnancy, everything is fine with no symptoms of miscarriage. With that being said, there are a lot of scary statistics about the percentage of pregnancies that end on miscarriage. I want to share the good news, but I don’t want to tell anyone too early. I see websites that say anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks… That’s a difference of amonth. I just don’t know what statistics are actually correct and when isa good time to share the good news.
A: Agree with advice to wait until at least 12 weeks. You want to make sure you’re going to hold it before you start spreading the word. I don’t look at statistics, myself; all they are is numbers and not necessarily accurate ones because they don’t track EVERYONE with a particular condition, in this case pregnancy. Don’t let them scare you; you’re scared enough already.I miscarried twice before having 3 children. Just relax and don’t worry and you should be fine. And yes, I know, its hard not to worry.
With all my symptoms, did I have a miscarriage at a very early prgnancy?
Q: I just had my period almost 2 wks.ago. 3 days ago, I have been getting extremely dizzy, to the point of losing balance. I also had a sharp pain in my pelvic area (almost feeling like major cramps), then it went away. A day later, I passed some tissue in my urine, and put a tampon in me and a few hours later, my tampon was full of blood, and became even more dizzy. I thought I had miscarried or maybe I was pregnant so I went into the ER. I did a urine sample, blood test, and a pelvic exam. The doctor came back and gave me a long list of what I wasn’t, was completely unorganized, and asked me if I was sure I saw blood. I’m like what in the world?? SO I imagined a bloody tampon?? And I had my husband as a witness and saw the tissue in my urine and the blood. The doctor said he didn’t see any bleeding, infection, bacteria, I wasn’t anemic, nothing wrong with my kidneys or liver. Then he said I have Vertigo and that I should look it up online and research it. But isn’t that why we pay them hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars to find that out for me?? Then his diagnosis paper he gave me said his diagnosis was vaginal bleeding. And I said, I thought you said I wasn’t bleeding so why in the world is that your diagnosis?? I wasn’t satisfied with it at all. I don’t have insurance, so I’m not going to waste my time or money to go to the ER to have a doctor tell me I need to research something online, and to contradict himself. He can tell I was a little unsatisfied. So then he asked me if I would like him to prescribe me some meds, I was curious to find out what meds he would try to prescribe me – knowing that he didn’t know what was wrong with me. So I asked him what kind of meds?? And he couldn’t give me an answer. His exact words were” I can just give yo something to make you feel better” What in the world???? So I go home and talked to one of my girlfriends that had a miscarriage and she said that she went to the same exact doctor and he gave her the same diagnosis with the same symptoms I’m having, and to later find out on a 2nd trip to a different doctor that she had had a miscarriage that 1 st time, cause now she had an infection is why she had to go into a 2nd time.SO the next morning – I researched Vertigo – I don’t have it!! Vertigo is a different dizziness where you’re spinning or whirling it says. I did the whole symptom checker on webmd.com and the 1 st thing that came up was MISCARRIAGE. So then I took an at-home pregnancy test and it read negative.Oh and the doctor didnt even tell me if i was pregnant or not, I had to ask him at the end and he said “no, we didn’t see any of that.”It just does’;t make any sense… Can someone help me??
A: If it had been a miscarraige ur test would have come up positive if taken within a week of miscarraige. That was an awful experience for u though and u should go to ur GP for help, especially if u still don’t feel well.
