Q: Before you were diagnosed with cervical cancer (or someone you know was) what symptoms did you have? I have read numerous websites about the symptoms of advanced cervical cancer that do not go into much details. I need details about the leg pain, back pain, urinary problems, abnormal bleeding and pain during intercourse. Also at what stage did you find out it was cancer and not dysplasia? The pap smear, colposcopy, biopsy or even later?

A: I never had any bleeding, but I used to have cramping during sex, and then after we finished, I would have very painful cramps after sex. I found out is was cancer after I had a LEEP. The didn’t find it on the colposcopy because I had adenocarcinoma and that is more difficult to find because it occurs in the canal.
