What stores in Bellingham, WA, USA sell the Nintendo Wii?
Q: I don’t live in Bellingham, but I want to buy it from here. I was wondering which stores actually have the Nintendo Wii in stock, ready to be sold by Saturday. Please let me know soon. Thank you.
A: There’s no way of knowing which stores will have them. Nintendo will ship the wii when ever they feel like it. You have to call around to see which stores will have them. 🙂
Why is Wii still out of stock in USA?
Q: I was talking with a friend about this the other day. He was trying to convince me that this is just marketing strategy from Nintendo, so people would get even more “crazy” about buying the console. That doesn’t make any sense to me, as I can’t believe a company would just waste an immediate selling potential. In other hand, what else would explain the inability to produce consoles at the same speed as the demand after more than a year on the market? Another friend was talking about Nintendo holding the consoles, as they’re not selling games as they were expecting. That would make sense if the cost to make a console is bigger than the retail value, but I’m not sure this is the case here. Does anyone else have more info or comments on this?
A: It’s a marketing strategy sort of, they do a staggered release which does make it look like it’s out of stock in some places. I really think they are trying to get them out as fast as possible but STILL can not meet demand. Think about it, most systems are only in demand from kids, teens and maybe young adults, this one is in demand from ALL AGES I’ve even seen it advertised in retirement home commercials, people who don’t even play video games want one. The demand is hugeeee. Then you have people buying them up to sell on Ebay which creates an endless cycle of Wii’s not being in stock and being overpriced.Their inability to produce to meet demand is simple, they did not anticipate the demand of the original Wii console in all countries for all ages.Nintendo’s full focus wasn’t even on the Wii, they wanted to make a Wii 2 (that could play DVDs) and have it out a few months ago, but they did not expect this kind of demand for the Wii, so they have shifted focus back onto the current model of the Wii which is kind of funny. Also don’t forget the U.S. gets a very very small amount of the Wii’s being produced, we are actually very not important in the whole scheme of things lol. Get used to it because the U.S. economy is causing this:http://www.wiiark.com/articles/wii-fit-hard-to-find-because-of-weak-us-dollarLastly its very hard for me to believe they are holding consoles. They aren’t sitting there, going “Hey let’s hold on to money so we can not have the money we could if we just shipped these out…” The Wii is in demand, even years after it’s release, in my opinion they are making and putting them out at fast as humanly possible and where it makes them the most money, which is not in the USA.
