How Do I Get Rid Of A Headache That Won’t Go Away?
Q: Alright, on Thursday of this month, December 27th, I was sledding with a friend. I saw not that there was a ditch at the bottom of the hill until it was too late. I desperately attempted to avoid the ditch and failed. My sled hit the ditch head-on, and I went flying. I landed on my posterior end, and my head felt horrible. The pain, I thought, would go away after a couple Ibuprofen pills, but alas, it did not cease to pound with pain. The headache hasn’t gone away yet, and the pain still lingers. I found that it hurts especially when I wake up, but perhaps that is because I haven’t had Ibuprofen in 10 hours. The pain is also apparent in my ear, and surrounding the entire right hemisphere of my cranium. It is mostly focused on my forehead and ear. I am in desperate need of suggestions upon what I should do.
A: It is possible that you may need some x-rays. Having a blow that hard to your body can cause lots of problems including whiplash. I strongly suggest getting x-rays and maybe seeing a chiropractor. You could have really put yourself out of whack.
i have an addiction?
Q: I think, but am not sure, that I am addicted to caffeine. I drink A LOT of pop and occasionally go on coffee kicks. I didn’t drink any pop yesterday and most of today. I felt HORRIBLE! I had a slight headache, my stomach was hurting, and I was really lightheaded. I also get really bad head rushes. Well finally at lunch, someone bought me a pop just to ease me down. Then I felt totally better. I rarely get the caffeine headaches, but when I DO get them, they are horrible and don’t go away unless I drink like 5 pops. So this is a caffeine addiction right? And how do I overcome it? I already tried quitting cold turkey, but i just cant!! Today in my bio class, I was sitting indian style in the chair with my head resting on my legs (very awkward position, but comfortable). I did that because I felt really lightheaded and everytime I looked up my vision would “sway”. My teacher said I have an addiction and I should get rid of the caffeine. But I need help! How?!!i think too much pop is the reason why im really dehydrated right now. i usually dont drink anything at all until dinner, but if i have money i get pop at lunch. and lately i’ve been feeling sick(i have pretty much all symptoms of dehydration)
A: You’re going to have to gradually reduce your caffeine intake. Like the other poster said, wean yourself slowly…5 today…less tomorrow, and less until you find you’re not drinking as much. You’re drinking WAY too much caffeine and it’s not healthy for you. Caffeine is a stimulant, yes (gives you energy), but it is also a diuretic (it makes you pee) so you can get dehydrated by drinking too much …drink water or (my personal fav -) Country Time Lemonade.Taper yourself…just take your time. And once you get down, DON’T go back up on the caffeine intake.
