Q: Past-my mother in law was 16 when she got pregnant with my husband. it was the 80’s era. she is white and his father is black. she did not tell anyone she was pregnant with him until a week before she gave birth to him. he was born with undescended testicals until the age of 4. she said the dropped a little before his schedualed surgery to fix the problem.. ive been lookin up information aon this and the furthest age ive heard of undescended testicals before a surgery is the age of two.also she treats him diff bc he is the black sheep out of the fam. all her other sons are white so she treats him diff and is a bit bitchy- PRESENT- we tried getting pregnant in sept, & oct of 08. we were successful in oct. but miscarried in dec of 08.. were takin our time to heal before we try again, also to get doctor checkups. men with undescended testes and high risk of testes cancer and low fertility. -PAST- my husband and i havbe talked about his mother takin care of our future babies. i dont feel comfortable with it after what ive found out and also how she treats him, but he just gets angry and stands up for her. i know its hard to tell your parents your preg. but thats no excuse for not goin to a dr or anything. mo mother was born in mexico and back then if you gt preg with out being married it would be much more hell than it was for his mother. also i dont like her attitude and she tends to yell alot at her other kids.. i dont want my baby around hyer when she yells at the other kids.. i mean yea parents yell but she’s a big women and she’s a bitch… no joke.. example. she has a file of his, that has school stuff and certificates and court papers. he asked to take it home for the night to look over it and she said no that she wants his file at her house… its getting real old and im tired of it.. what should i do?
A: If your husband puts up with this kind of abuse at this stage in the game honey you don’t stand a chance especially if he is standing up to you for verbalizing your concerns about what she does to him then I’m sorry to say there is something wrong with him to let her continue to treat him this way! I don’t know how old he is but he is old enough to know that NOT NORMAL!!!!!!!!! How does he treat you? I’d give him a choice either you or the ABUSE if he choses the ABUSE then there is NOTHING in this world that will change that no matter who he is with, I’m sorry to say but the truth is the truth!
getting rid of mother inlaw would be the happiest day of my life?

A: Leave her out of the loop. Don’t go over to her place. Don’t call her. Don’t share family functions with her. Don’t share another pregnancy with her. She clearly causes you stress and a pregnant woman doesn’t need any of that. Your husband is clearly content to receive the scraps of love and any attention from his mom that he can. It is not uncommon for children that are neglected or abused verbally or emotionally to still feel a need for the abusive parent’s approval. He is not emotionally strong to stand up to her. You will have to take the lead in this area and be patient for him to follow you. Listen to your gut instincts with regards to the care of your future children. Do what you need to do in order to assure they are in a positive environment. He should make copies of the file if he ever gets the opportunity. The past can’t be changed. She’s never going to apologize for it. Move on. Let your husband know how serious you are and follow thru.
Miscarriage 9 mos ago (EDD is this Thurs), BFF just found out she’s pregnant, Failure again this month in TTC?
Q: Hi ladies,I feel so down. My husband and I had a miscarriage back in early April, and we were devistated. Our doctor reccomended we resume TTC once the miscarriage ended (natural, no D&C), which was in early May. The initial grief and loss floored us, but knowing it may take a few months, we decided to begin trying again. While we did not anticipate any immediate success, it still is really difficult each month when af shows. To top things off, this year has been awful with my FIL passing away suddenly this fall, and my mom’s health doing poorly. My EDD would have been 12/11 (it’s still written in my planner as “Due Date!!!”), and everywhere I turn there are pregnant women who are where I would have been. It’s been difficult to say the least. Out of the blue, my best friend called me last week and announced her pregnancy. I’m so incredibly happy for her and her husband. I also hope only the best for them. The past few days, I was starting to experience pg symptoms– nausea, high temps, sore breasts, peeing a bunch, and light brown spotting a week before af was due. Then today af reared her ugly head (I’m still not due for af for another 5 days), and I was absolutely crushed. I’m finding that by charting and bd-ing on those days, I’m stressing myself out more. Should we just give up for a while?I’m really confused and sad, and I really want to be there for my best friend, but I’m afraid it will be difficult as she progresses, especially if we can’t. Each month when af shows I feel like a failure, even though I know the chances of conception are small each month. I know my doctors won’t see us for another few months. One other close girlfriend of ours miscarried the same week I did, so at least she can understand how it feels, but the news of our friend’s pregnancy has been quite hard on her as well. Any coping techniques that help when someone close is pregnant and you are not? Any advice would be appreciated.
A: Girl i’m in the same boat. I miscarried in june this year and a week later one of my friends found out she was pregnant. I hated her for awhile it hurts to hear about other girls and its hard. We quit trying for a little and then i missed my last two AF’s and still Neg test results and what was sad is i went to my friends baby shower yesterday and i took a test that morning cause my AF hadnt showed and it was neg. So i spent all day around a bunch of pregnant girls at a baby shower, and i just tried to keep an open mind and be happy for everyone despite the fact i didnt want to. I would just try to relax about trying and go with the flow i know its hard, what helped me was just trying to be happy for my friend even though its still hard to see her and know that i’d almost be having mine but to look at it in a positive light and just remember god only gives you what you can handle. Baby dust to you! i heard that coming off birth control makes you fertile…. it that helps with trying at all that when i got pregnant right away. Nothing was more devastating then going in for my ultra sound to make sure everything was okay and seeing nothing on the screen.
