Horrible stomach pains..?
Q: two days ago I was driving and all of a sudden I started to get these horrible stomach pains in my lower abdomen. It hurt so bad that I had to pull the car over and just sit there until it subsides a few minutes later. It was like a tightening, like everything was like twisting around in there. That night it kept doing it for like 4 hours. The pain would last for like 10 minutes and then it would subside for like 2 and then come back again..at the time I just chalked it up to being stressed out, because that night I was the sober driver for a bunch of drunk people [family and friends] and it took forever to gather everybody together from the bar, get them all in the car, and home safely. But then yesterday it came back again while I was sitting on the couch with my little sister watching tv. I started crying it hurt so bad, I couldn’t move [not even my legs..], and it hurt to breathe…I don’t know what it is or even what to think about it, I tried looking it up on Google, but all I could find were sites about pregnancy and miscarriages. So I thought I’d try here and see if anyone has experienced this and found out what was causing it, before I spent money to go to a doctor =/ So if anyone could help me out I would greatly apprieciate it..
A: This has nothing to do with stress, it’s all about pinched muscles in your back. We move in so many different ways and getting a muscles pinched is so easy to do. Sometimes we have pinched muscles that we don’t even know they are pinched because we over ride the pain. But then just the right movement or some running puts the little extra movement that is needed to make the pinched muscle go into a full blown pain. Then you move again and the pain subsides or you stop running and it subsides. Here is how to release your back muscles to release the ones that are tight:Back: (do from a sitting position)Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but remain there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
urine pregnancy test says positive but blood test says negative .. which one is correct?
Q: the week before december 22nd i was having extremely bad cramps, stomach pains, lower back pains, fever, throwing up etc. it was so bad that i was in bed most of the week. i asked a friend what she thought it could be and she said it sounded like i had a miscarriage. i had gotten my period but it was extremely light but then all of a sudden it looked funny and was heavier and had sort of a weird smell. i did some research and learned that it may be true.on december 22nd i went to a walk in clinic becuase i was still in a lot of pain. they gave me a urine pregnancy test and it was positive, they then explained to me that they were going to take some blood and send it to a lab because blood pregnancy tests are more accurate. the next day they called me and told me that the blood test was negative.i read some more and found that i may not get my period on time for the month of jan. if i indeed had a miscarriage and that if i took a home pregnancy test that even up to a month later there may be traces of hCG in my body which may cause a false positive. i just took a home pregnancy test becuase my period is now a few days late and it says positive but i dont think that i am pregnant .. i have not been sick at all or had any pains.im already aware that going to a professional to find out for sure if i am pregnant or not, however, i recently lost my job (thanks economy) and do not have the funds since i no longer have health insurance.i would really like mature, adult answers. everyone has their “freedom of speech” but theres a time and a place for everything so im really not looking for people to tell me to just go to the doctor (i cant afford it without insurance) im looking for mature adult women (or men, if youre a doctor) to give me their opinionthanks in advance (:
A: Blood tests are much more accurate. And it does indeed sound as if it was a miscarriage (I’m sorry if you wanted this baby). I would reccommend Planned Parenthood or another RESPECTABLE clinic. They are free, or very cheap, and if you explain the situation they will help you in any way they can.If you aren’t in pain, I would reccommend waiting another 1 to 2 weeks for your period. if still no period, a pregnancy test is in order, and a trip to the clinic no matter the results. if you aren’t pregnant, you need to make sure there is nothing wrong. If it’s positive, you need it confirmed.Good Luck and I hope you are healthy, no mattter the results. And remember to take care of yourself, trust your body, its signs, and your gut.
