I could tell because my flow was ridiculously heavy- 3 times my normal amount. You know what’s a normal range for you, anything significantly more than that and I’d be suspicious. (I was 6-8 weeks in at the time)

Q: So I had unprotected sex with my fiance few weeks ago and he said he came etc etc..I then did not get my period when it was due(just brown spotting for a week)…that was a month ago.I now got my period which means last time I had my period was 2months ago.It is heavy clotting like fills a tampon in 2hrs.It is not sore either.I also took tests before this and I never got a + sign..Bar one test I did last week and one test had half a line on the test going up.I did have weird signs like feeling sick when I ate,tired,heartburn for last few weeks too.I don’t know if this period is just a late one or a miscarriage. A: Generally with miscarriages there is alot of cramping, and abdominal pain, but of course there are exceptions. I sounds suspicious enough that if it were me, I think I would defiantly seek medical attention as soon as possible. If you are having a miscarriage you need to have medical attention, and you’ll need to know for any future pregnancies. If you’re not having a miscarriage at least you’re mind will be at ease. If you’re not able to see your regular doctor within the next 12 hours, I would highly suggest going to the Emergency Room.
