A: My son used to have migrains at that age as well and I found the greatest thing since "sliced bread". The web between the forefinger and the thumb have accupressure points that work with the brain. All you have your son do is this; have him squeeze the web on both hands as hard as he can. Also, I would suggest that he move around that web and squeeze as well. Some peoples accupressure point is located in a different place. I tell you, this works. I hope I have helped. Blessings.

Q: I have prescription Imitrex, it helps after it makes me sick, which they said was normal, but I'm not supposed to keep taking it after I take two pills. I can take tylenol, and I've done that, but that barely touches it. I'm sitting in the dark, barely able to see to write this, and when I get done I'm getting away from this bright screen. As far as remedies I mean are there certain foods you eat or avoid when you have a migraine. I don't mean meds, I'm not risking my baby. Thanks for any advice. I have three boys 2, 8 , & 11, and school just started back, so napping isn't really an option, I'm wearing shades, and keeping the noise down as much as possible, but I'm looking for fresh ideas. A: The fleshy part next to your thumb (at the bottom of your thumb on the inside)-it is a pressure point. If you squeeze it firmly for a minute or so, it helps. I do that when I don't have any tylenol available. Not sure how good it will be for a migraine, but it helps when I have moderately painful headaches. Hope this helps!
Natural relief for migraines?
Q: I have a low grade migraine headache almost daily with a severe one about once a week. I have difficulty with prescription medications. Do you know of any good herbal remedies or natural cures? I've tried Feverfew, Peppermint oil, Melatonin and different "Herbal migraine remedy" pills. Any other suggestions?Thanks for all the answers so far....I do have food triggers that I can avoid....and MSG is one of them. The problem triggers that I can't avoid are hormonal changes, weather changes and odors (perfume, air fresheners, lysol etc). I need help for the things that are not under my control.Oh... and I saw a chiroprctor for 6 months last year doing the 3x per week then 2x then one etc. It didn't help. He was convinced that he could help me but when it didn't he did some body kinesiolgy tests with different foods and determined it was food related and out of his ability to help me.
A: For a migraine you can try abstaining form coffee and junk foods which are high in sugar. When you feel a headache coming on you can place and ice compress the the back of the next and either go into a dark room and lie down or just place a mask over your face. daily exercise also helps to reduce severity and frequency of attacks. some herbs you could try are: chamomile to soothe the nauseating feeling, lavendar applied to the forehead or temple area to relieve tension etc
