Spotting a week before period due. Implantation bleeding or is my period coming early?
Q: Husband and I are ttc our 3rd child. With the first two conception came fairly easily without a lot of trying, but for some reason this time around it’s taking a bit longer.I have been off and on tracking cervical mucus, and estimated that I should have ovulated sometime around the 21st. I noticed what I thought were ovulation pains on the 24th (I think!) and my cervical mucus actually didn’t seem to change until yesterday when I noticed a heavy amount of the thicker stretchy kind. I’ve never traced cm before so I’m not really sure the difference between egg white and creamy – but this wasn’t lotiony as some women have described. Then today I didn’t notice very much cm but there were a few little spots of blood the last time I used the rest room. I rust went again and didn’t notice anymore. I seriously can’t believe I’m adding to the ranks of women who come on here and ask “was this implantation bleeding” lol*, but I AM! Lol* I have never had any spotting before that I can recall, and I wonder if this could be a sign my period is going to begin, implantation spotting, or maybe even I’ve ovulated much later than I predicted and maybe this was ovulation spotting? Any help??I actually did use an online calendar and it predicted the 24th as the day I should ovulate. Although 14 days from the first day of my last period would have been the 21st. So either way if I did ovulate yesterday, then the calendar AND I were way off! Lol*Ahhh – well that could be a cause for some of my confusion. So ovulation is 14 before your period is supposed to start? Well I was counting 14 from the start of my last period. But if my cycle was 28 days it wouldn’t matter. Mine is about 30 days, give or take. So if I go from when I’m due for my period, Jan 7th, then what, the 24th would have been my guesstimate day. Either way it’s about the same for me. Ok I’m still confused. LOL***
A: Well, some women get EWCM even after they ovulated. It’s an indicator of elevated estrogen, which also happens when pregnancy is achieved but can be normal in a non-pregnant cycle too.I would suggest tracking your basal temperature as well as CM because CM is not really that reliable on its own. Also, just to clarify- most women ovulate 14 days BEFORE the last day of their cycles, not after. 12-16 days is also normal but it will usually be consistent from woman to woman. So, if your luteal phase (days between ovulation and last day before period) is 13 days long, it will be 13 days most months, varying by not more than a day.If you had a luteal phase of 13 days and a 28 day cycle, you would expect to ovulate on day 15. The first part of the cycle (Follicular phase) can be variable but you would still expect the last day of your cycle to be 13 days later. (meaning, you would get your period 14 days later)Hope this makes sense. I am 10 dpo today and having a bit of cramping today (as well as 7dpo), so I am a bit confused too.
Implantation bleeding, confused on something!!?
Q: i had light pink spotting on the 13th {ovulated around then so obviously not implantation bleeding} then i had light pink spotting on my pantyliner on the 19th and 21st a few hours after having sex it came. I started my period on the 25th, 2 days early. I am hardly ever early. Can implantation bleeding ever be heavy like a period? On my pad the blood is pink and brown but when I wipe it’s like a lighter red. I’m just confused cuz on websites they say that some women mistake implantation bleeding for their period but I don’t understand how, cuz unless implantation bleeding is as heavy as a period how could you mistake spotting for actually bleeding. I think there is still a possible chance of me being pregnant yet cuz period like bleeding during pregnancy runs in my family, from my mom until my great grandma. Can anyone give me any advice you have? Has anyone had period while pregnant and had simular experience? What made you think you were still pregnant after the bleeding stopped?oh and i took a dollar store and their was a faint faint line and then i took afirst response and i think [ i dont know if my eyes were playing tricks on me] and there was a really faint unseeable unless staring at it line. Either they were evaps or maybe i am pregnant and not getting enough hormone yet. i have an appointment for the docs on the 1st of July to see about everything, i just wanted some input or experience! thank you!
A: You can’t have a period and still be pregnant. However, some women experience period-like bleeding while pregnant, which can be several different harmless things, including decidual bleeding or it can be a bad thing, like a miscarriage. If you’re receiving a faint positive, you’re pregnant. Since you’re bleeding and pregnant, you need to see a doctor ASAP.

A: take a pregnancy test if you think you might be. but to me it sounds like you’re not. implantation bleeding is not usually heavy like a period.
