This week on “X Factor” the remaining 10 contestants performed songs for rock week. All of the judges had complaints about the other mentors not choosing real rock songs for this. It was a big debate among the them and it plagued rock week. So many of the songs gave the contestants less a chance to receive votes from the fans, and now one person will go home. I agree with Simon Cowell, who said the point of having a certain theme is to stick by it and show how diverse the singers are.
For rock week, most everyone failed at being rock. Except Josh Krajcik, who rocked the song with his superior voice, and (you guessed it) to a rock song, unlike many of the others.
Simon said aside from his contestants, two contestants stood out to him: Josh Krajcik and Astro.
Safe: (in no particular order)
Leroy Bell, Lakoda Rayne, Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, Marcus Canty, Drew, and Rachel Crow.
That means that Stacy Francis and Astro will have to compete in a sing off against each other. And I want Stacy to continue on. I hope! But now they must sing and the judges will decide who stays.
Final Showdown:
Stacy Francis – She sang “Amazing Grace,” with power and conviction.
Astro – He sang a song I don’t know called “Never Can Say Goodbye.”
L.A. voted to send home Stacy Francis (even though he said he didn’t like Astro’s lackluster, looks like he already quit performance). Nicole voted to send home Astro, Paula voted to send home Stacy Francis, and that gave Simon the deciding vote.
Simon told Astor he was being disrespectful with his arms crossed and a bad attitude. Astro replied “if people want to put me in the bottom two I don’t want to be here.” Wow, see, he is just too young for this competition, so is Drew and Rachel Crow and now he has proved it with his attitude.
Simon said based on who he thinks has a best chance of winning, he is going to send home Stacy. Wow, I am surprised. She left with gratitude and said she has to suck up her pride and take responsibility for not having a good song choice last night. Astro could learn something from her……about being grateful and respectful.
PS- Simon you were wrong to save Astro over Stacy. People relate to her and would’ve bought her albums. The same cannot be said for Astro, he is simply too young to take the heat of this competition.
