Wrestling Mark News: Christian to Face Orton in a Cage

Calgary was treated to Bret Hart serving as the SmackDown General manager, but the WWE Hall of Famer definitely had his hands full.

His first task was dealing with Christian, who declared that his lawyers had gotten it in writing that he would face Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship before anyone else, even though Mark Henry won the Number One Contender battle royal last week.

Hart gave Christian his rematch for next Tuesday at SuperSmackDown, but added his own twist. The match will be in a steel cage.

In the meantime, Christian had to face Daniel Bryan that night in a match where bot men kept countering one another.

Christan looked to deliver a Spear, but Bryan was ready and got him with a boot to the head. Both men couldn’t hit backflips from the corner, but Bryan fought off a roll up with another boot ; Christian block a superplex and countered with a spinning DDT. Bryan fought off the Kill Switch and went to the Labell Lock, but Christian got to the ropes. Christian then lured Bryan into hitting the top turnbuckle and finally hit the Kill Switch.

Mark Henry, meanwhile, was out to prove he would destroy whoever will be the champion after next Tuesday. He proved that against Sheamus, even though the Celtic Warrior won their rematch by countout.

Sheamus proved he wasn’t afraid of the World’s Strongest Man, hitting him with knees to the head and even flying at him from the top corner. Henry responded by tossing Sheamus hard to the ground and taking to the fight to the announce table. But Sheamus fought back with a Brogue Kick over the table, then got back in the ring in time for the referee to count out Henry only.

Henry did not take the loss well, tossing the table aside and heading back to the ring to resume the fight. The two slammed each other against the apron and the posts before Henry delivered the World’s Strongest Slam against the steps.

Orton had his own business to deal with in his former Legacy teammates, as he took on Ted DiBiase.

Orton first seemed to have DiBiase beat with the DDT from the ropes, but DiBiase fought off one RKO attempt and tried to go for Dream Streak. Orton dodged that and one clothesline before hitting the RKO for the win.

Cody Rhodes did not take DiBiase’s loss lightly, hitting DiBiase with Cross Rhodes and then slipping one of his paper bags on DiBiase’s head.

Jinder Majal declared that The Great Khali intended to dominate Ezekiel Jackson. But he ended up costing Khali against the former Intercontinental Champion.

Khali tried to weaken him with the vice grip on his shoulder, but Jackson fought out of it and sent Khali against the corner. Khali delivered a kick to the head and went to the vice grip on the head, but Jackson got to the ropes. Then with the referee not watching, Majal tried to attack Jackso from the apron, but Khali mistakenly delivered the chop to Majal’s head. That gave Jackson the time to actually lift up Khali for the torture rack and made him submit.
