The question for boxing is will Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao ever happen? As a boxing fan who hopes boxing will regain its excitement from the past, I hope so. As a realist who believes Mayweather Jr. is too macho and egotistical, I think this fight may pass us by. I hate to disappoint fellow boxing fans, but I believe Mayweather Jr. Likes himself too much to give somebody like Pacquiao a chance to destroy his undefeated record. Many fight fans are still doubtful that Manny Pacquiao will beat Juan Manuel Marquez in November. Mayweather Jr. beat Marquez by unanimous decision in 2009 and he believes Pacquiao is fighting all of his leftovers. In conclusion, expect great fights if Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao continue to box, however, don’t expect them to fight each other in the near future. As of yet, the stars are not aligned correctly to make this fight happen. Even if the fight did happen, Mayweather Jr. would fight a defensive fight because of the powerful hands of Pacquiao which would make for a boring fight.
