When Economics and Justice Clash, Economics Win

1:45 PM Eastern Standard Time

Anthony Hardwick, a shopping cart attendant for Target, of Omaha, Nebraska, has filed a Petition for “Economic Justice” on the website Change.Org to petition Gregg Steinhafel, CEO and President Of Target Corporation to allow him to take Thanksgiving Night off from work.

In this dramatic but frivolous petition, available online at “Tell Target To Save Thanksgiving ”
Mister Hardwick explains to us all why this is so important.

He states that,

“A midnight opening robs the hourly and in-store salary workers of time off with their families on Thanksgiving Day. By opening the doors at midnight, Target is requiring team members to be in the store by 11p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. A full holiday with family is not just for the elite of this nation–all Americans should be able to break bread with loved ones and get a good night’s rest on Thanksgiving!”

And Incredibly, the Selfish Majority agrees with this shopping cart attendant. As of the time and date of writing this article, Anthony Hardwick has garnered signatures in excess of 190,000 for this petition on Change.Org.

Now, a word about 7 year old Taylor Lee Bisbee of Arizona. Each Thanksgiving, Taylor is forced to accept that she lives without the comfort of her mother’s loving embrace. Every Thanksgiving is a reminder that she lives in a world where her mother, Courtney Bisbee remains imprisoned for a crime that never occurred. Taylor has Jan Sloan (see Recantation ) to thank for this, along with the State of Arizona.

Also, according to reports from Change.Org, young Taylor now lives in a world where over 190,000 Americans (see Tell Target To Save Thanksgiving ) think a shopping cart attendant’s frivolous complaints are a more pressing issue than the freedom of an innocent woman who’s only crime was being a Good Samaritan. Courtney’s petition (see Help Free an Innocent Woman ) has received barely 32,500 signatures.

A quick question for Anthony Hardwick.

Did you bother to even read and sign Courtney’s petition, Anthony, or do you need another day off to enjoy the loving warmth of your family?
