Week 10 Defense Rankings – player profiles and stat projections will be updated throughout the week

Week 10 — QB Rankings — RB Rankings — WR Rankings — TE Rankings — D Rankings — Waiver Pickups — Picks & Predictions — Player Injury Updates

1. Baltimore Ravens = @Sea —– No doubt one of the best fantasy football defenses so far this season, the Ravens get a nice matchup this week against a weak Seattle Seahawks offense. There is plenty of reason to believe that the Ravens will finish week 10 as one of the top 5 fantasy football scoring defenses this week.

2. Philadelphia Eagles = Ari —– After all the early season struggles of this Eagles defense, a matchup against an Arizona offense that will either feature an injured Kevin Kolb or inexperienced John Skelton, could easily have a field day racking up sacks and interceptions in this game.

3. Green Bay Packers = Min —– For all the flack that the Packers defense has gotten for allowing too many passing yards and points, they still have too many playmakers that can change the game at any second. Whether it is a sack, forced fumble, or interception return for a touchdown, the Packers defense against rookie Christian Ponder this week offers plenty of scoring potential for fantasy football teams.

4. Detroit Lions = @Chi —– The Detroit Lions have one of the best defensive lines in the entire NFL, and the Chicago Bears have had one of the worst offensive lines in the entire NFL over the past few seasons. I’m guessing the Lions defensive line will win this matchup, as Cutler could be looking at getting sacked 4-8 times in this game, to go along with an interception or two and a fumble or two.

5. New York Giants = @SF —– After accomplishing the impossible last week and slowing down Tom Brady and the Patriots offense, a matchup against a very weak QB in Alex Smith this week should allow the Giants to have no problem shutting down the one-dimensional 49ers offense this week. Expect a handful of sacks to go along with an interception or two in what should be a low scoring game for the 49ers.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers = @Cin —– Hard to trust the Steelers defense, but a healthy James Harrison could easily rack up 3 sacks again this week by myself. Andy Dalton and the Bengals will surely be tested.

7. San Diego Chargers = Oak —– 41% —– The Chargers defense got run over by the Packers offense last week, but who hasn’t. A matchup this week against the interception prone Carson Palmer, could easily have the Chargers defense racking up some fantasy points. Add in a few sacks, and the Chargers are a solid gamble start for fantasy lineups this week while other typically better defenses have tougher matchups this week.

8. San Francisco 49ers = NYG —– One of the best fantasy football defenses so far this season, the 49ers will have their work cut out for them this week against a red hot Eli Manning and the Giants offense.

9. Houston Texans = @TB —– Finally playing like a sure bet top 10 defense, the Texans face a turnover prone Josh Freeman this week.

10. Dallas Cowboys = Buf —– I don’t really like the Dallas defense much, but with so many solid defenses facing tough matchups this week, the Cowboys are worth a gamble start this week.

11. New York Jets = NE —– Tough matchup for the Jets defense this week, but luckily for them they are on a hot streak and Tom Brady is on a cold streak. Add in the fact that this game will be played in New York, and you have to believe that the Jets defense has some decent potential this week.

12. Chicago Bears = Det —– Tough matchup for the Chicago Bears defense this week.

13. Jacksonville Jaguars = @Ind —– If you want a super sleeper defense this week when normally very good defenses face tough matchups this week, the Jaguars could be a surprising spot start in fantasy lineups this week.

14. Kansas City Chiefs = Den —– 56% —– Before last weeks game, the Chiefs defense was considered to be on the rise. Maybe getting back to playing in Kansas City this week will help, and a turnover prone Tim Tebow adds some potential to the mix as well.

15. Washington Redskins = @Mia —– 24% —– The Miami Dolphins offense busted out last week, but who knows what they will do this week. In terms of potential, the Redskins ability to get pressure on the QB and rack up sacks offers enough fantasy scoring potential to make them a desperation start if needed this week.

16. Buffalo Bills = @Dal —– Not a good matchup for the Bills, but Romo can be turnover prone.

17. Miami Dolphins = Was —– 6% —– It’s very likely that the Dolphins defense was just lucky last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, but a matchup against a Redskins offense with virtually zero QB play could make the Dolphins defense worth a cheap gamble in deep deep fantasy leagues this week.

18. Oakland Raiders = @SD —– Perhaps the turnover prone Philip Rivers could lead the Oakland defense to a soild output this week for fantasy teams.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers = Hou —– Another defense facing a tough matchup.

20. Atlanta Falcons = NO —– As with so many defenses this week, this will be a tough test for the Falcons D against Drew Brees.

21. New Orleans Saints = @Atl —– Tough matchup.

22. Cincinnati Bengals = Pit —– The bend but don’t break idea is key for the Bengals defense this week.

23. New England Patriots = @NYJ —– The Patriots defense is definitely not great, but the Jets offense is nothing real special either. If you are desperate for a starting defense this week, taking a flyer on the Patriots against Mark Sanchez is worth the risk this week.

24. Carolina Panthers = Ten —– The Titans offense is nothing special, so there is a small peak of potential for the Panthers defense this week.

25. Tennessee Titans = @Car

26. Denver Broncos = @KC

27. Minnesota Vikings = @GB

28. Indianapolis Colts = Jac

29. Seattle Seahawks = Bal

30. St. Louis Rams = @Cle

31. Cleveland Browns = StL

32. Arizona Cardinals = @Phi
