Treating Catarrh with Aroma Therapy

Catarrh is a condition or disorder of the mucus membranes of the nasal passages which causes the loss of smell, taste, sight, and hearing and it can eventually cause derangements which often end up causing termination by consumption. Catarrh causes sensitivity and uncomfortable irritation of the nose such as heat and pain.

The nose is often stopped on one side or the other and even on both sides at the same time. The edges of the nose are red, puffy and swollen. These irritated mucus membranes of the nasal passages create a clear almost water like mucus yet it very often creates a thick yellowish or even grayish-green offensive matter in the nose which must be removed.

Catarrh only gets worse over time especially if it is left untreated. The mucus becomes purulent and it increases in the amounts that are produced by the disorder. The secretions produce a fetid odor as it gets worse. The mucus secretions not only escape by the nose but also into the throat which also causes irritation in the throat and often causes problems well trying to sleep such as coughing and choking.

Essential oils can be used in the form of aroma therapy to treat and bring relief from the symptoms of catarrh. Below you will find some formulas to try for yourself. These formulas are in two steps. Choose a formula and follow each step, step one and then step two.

Directions are as follows: Step one: Mix the oils into the hot water and inhale the vapors from the mixture for at least 10 minutes. Be sure to keep your eyes closed while doing so then follow step two. Step two: Mix these oils together very well and rub into the cheat and back really good. Repeat this 2 times a day.

Note: These are formulas that I have created and worked with over the years. Be sure to wear gloves when working with essential oils in their pure state and they should always be diluted with a carrier oil. Test a small path of skin with a tiny bit of the formula to make sure that you do not experience an allergic reaction before you use it on a large area of skin. No liability can be taken by me!
