Another product arrived at our door this past year that sent the children into a frenzy.
After getting the package opened and three sets of eyes peering at exactly we had gotten, a fight ensued about who was going to get their hands on it first.
My oldest son gave up and the two little ones sat down together for a game of tug-o-war over each picture they flipped to.

The Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary for Kids is what had gotten their attention.
We have had many different reference resources at our fingertips but none have really compared to this in the visual imagery.
The book jumps at you visually before you ever open up the front cover, as you can see from the picture above.
My kids thought the Roman Soldier on the front cover was pretty cool.
However, the front cover is only the beginning because inside is a stimulating, eye catching, biblical learning adventure like no other.

This book offers more than visually striking photographs and definitions. It offers realistic illustrations, illustrated charts(the apostles,transportation, plants, birds, foods, etc.), reconstructions (of buildings and cities of biblical times), a pronunciation guide, and 209 pages worth of biblical knowledge.
The Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary for Kids is recommended for children ages 5-10 but I think younger children, as well as older children can benefit from the wealth of information this Bible Dictionary has to offer.
My children ages 10, 11, and 15 all enjoyed using this book for pure enjoyment. They used it to look up a few things for school related work but the most use we got out of it was purely looking through it for fun. We found information we had not known and had great discussions regarding things we found in it.
Even though it was meant to be used as a learning tool in the reference for school work, etc. way, Our family found the greatest joy in sitting down together and flipping through the books pages.
My children actually sought this book out just to flip through its pages while they were waiting for something else to begin.
The Holman Illustrated Bible for Kids sells for $14.99 from Lifeway Christian Stores and for our family that price is well worth it!
We have enjoyed this book very much, it will be on our shelves for quite some time and then put away for the grandchildren.
