The Jaguars Turn the Switch on One Week and Turn it Off This Week

The Jaguars had come off one of the best games the team had all year beating the Buccaneers 41 to 14 in week 14 of the NFL. This week however the Jaguars have the worst game of the season losing to the Falcons 41 to 14. It is like the team had some kind of on and off switch and this week it was off.

In front of the new owner of the Jaguars the team managed to pull off the worst offensive and defensive game of the year. The team set a new record in the first half of allowing 27 points to be scored by the Falcons and the offense had not scored at all. The half time score was Falcons 27 and Jaguars 0.

What was even worse is the offense had only racked up a total of 79 yards, and Blaine Gabbert had negative 14 yards passing. The only offensive player doing anything was Maurice Jones Drew. However the team should have considered sitting him on the sidelines because he left the field before halftime with an injury. Fans had to be asking how stupid the decision was to keep him in the game.

The new owner was on NFL Network and on the 106.5 broadcast of the game in the third quarter. People ask me what I think of the situation and I feel that the new owner is not telling the truth but telling people what they want to hear at the moment. One suggestion I have for him is lower the prices of the tickets if you want to sell seats! People just cannot afford $45.00 or more for tickets these days.

I could go off on a whole spill about that but back to the game against the Falcons. In the third quarter it was nice to see Maurice Jones Drew come back on the field but again I asked myself what the heck are they doing letting him come back on the field and play. No matter how you look at it Maurice Jones Drew is the Jaguars offense. He accounts for more than 50% of the offensive plays and in this game you could put that at around 85% of the offensive plays.

The second half got even worse. Even the broadcasters really had nothing to say so it was a good thing the new owner came up to the broadcasting booth and talked to the fans because by this time the game was long gone. The Jaguars defense managed to block a punt and score a touchdown in the third quarter. The offense still had not scored or even looked like it was alive except Maurice Jones Drew.

Someone must have gotten smart in the fourth quarter and finally pulled Maurice Jones Drew out of the game. By this time the Falcons had the second and third string players on the field and the Jaguars offense managed a scoring drive to end the game Falcons 41 to Jaguars 14.
