The Cleveland Browns Season is Not Over After Just the First Game

I’m going to say this very clearly and succinctly…

One Game Does Not a Season Make!

The Cleveland Browns lost their first game. Just one game. Not the whole season. One Game Does Not a Season Make! Understand? Good.

There will be slip-ups. There will be mistakes. New head coach. New offensive scheme. New defensive coordinator. Make-shift offensive Line. Too Many penalties. Etc…

Give this team time. The foundations for success are there. It is as if Mike Holmgren, Tom Heckert and Coach Pat Shurmur are in the construction business. They need quality pieces and time to build something that will stand on its own for years to come, not just through the next season or two. Rebuilding is not complete but it will come together in time. (Not the 3-4 years away that some sports pundits like to say but soon) There will be some bright spots this season. It will not be all gloom and doom.

Browns fans….please don’t freak out so soon. I know you deserve a winner. Cleveland and north east Ohio is a wonderful place with awesome people. You have seen your biggest rivals have sustained success for over a decade. You saw your team ripped from underneath you and then saw that team win–a lot. You have heard and seen the terrible jokes about your city and team. People insulting the very place you make your home. Cleveland does not deserve this hateful speech directed at it. It’s unfair, unkind and uncalled-for.

I want our team to win now but not just now but for years to come. I just don’t want the Browns to be slightly competitive but to be feared by other teams. I want teams to have to worry about Browns week during preparations. I want teams to have to game plan all week for the Browns. I want the Browns to someday be one of the elite organizations in NFL. I believe they can get there. I believe in Believeland!

Thought of the day……
Back in 2000, who would’ve thought that the Colts and the Patriots would be the Elite of the Elite? The Saints? The Eagles?

The Browns are building the framework for success. One brick at a time. The Bricks and Mortar don’t look pretty. Instead, the Brick and Mortar come together to be something anyone can be proud of.
