The Cheesiest Burger in Sacramento

After seeing an episode of Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” that featured a burger that literally overflowed with cheese, I had to try it. Having recently moved to the hometown of Squeeze Inn, I was in luck! Now, Squeeze Inn got its name from the cramped quarters of its original location, but now has several not-so-cramped Sacramento area locations for you to try, so the experience involves less “squeezing” than one might expect (although you may have trouble squeezing into your skinny jeans if their “cheese skirt” becomes routine).

It is imperative that a first-time visitor order the “Squeeze with Cheese.” (FYI: our vegetarian friends can order this in a veggie-patty variety, so there’s something for everyone). On the particular Monday afternoon that my family and I went to Squeeze Inn, there was quite a long line to order. I hear this is pretty common and after eating the meal, I know why. Our Squeeze burgers were jaw-dropping (one, because they were so incredible looking, and two, because they were so huge we had to warm up our jaws). The ring of crispy, cheesy goodness around the burger is something you never knew you were craving. I chose to eat my cheese skirt before diving into the burger, whereas others broke off some of the cheese then stacked it on the burger to add a crunchy cheese layer.

Before experiencing the Squeeze Inn, I had expected the cheese to be the best part; I mean, that is why they were on television, right? Wrong! Every single part of the burger was beautiful. A thick, well-seasoned beef patty, piled high with fresh, crisp lettuce, tomato, and all the burger-fixin’s sat between two sesame seed bun clouds! This was not your typical fast-food chain sesame seed bun; it was fresh and buttery and managed to hold my burger together while still being incredibly soft. Needless to say, I ate every bite and I will be back.

Just make sure that when you go to Squeeze Inn (as I am sure you will after dreaming about a cheese skirt tonight), you go with friends so you won’t be drooling all by yourself.
