Specifications of the Range Rover

The Range Rover is a large off-road vehicle manufactured by Range Rover, a British manufacturer. The Range Rover is currently in its third generation, which was introduced in 2002. This vehicle shares many components with the BMW E38 7 series of cars.

Overview

The third-generation of the Range Rover has four-wheel drive and is only available with automatic transmission. The entertainment system and computer system are identical to those used in the BMW E39 5 series. The remaining electronic systems are the same as those used in the BMW E38 7 series.

Engines

The Range Rover is currently available with two engine options. The standard engine on this vehicle is a 5.0-liter V-8 gasoline engine with a supercharger. It produces 503 hp at 5750 rpm and 413 foot-pounds of torque at 6,500 rpm. The Land Rover is also available with a 4.4-liter V-8 diesel engine. This engine produces 309 hp at 4,000 rpm and 516 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 rpm.

Features

The standard features for the Range Rover sold in the United States include air-conditioning with three climate zones, telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, power seats with leather upholstery and a sound system with a six-disc CD changer. Additional features in the Range Rover include a voice-activated navigation system, rearview camera, wireless phone connectivity and a garage door opener. Popular options for the Land Rover include heated and cooled seats, upgraded upholstery and a DVD player.
