Made popular by the classic cartoon It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, pumpkin picking farms find themselves swarmed with hundreds of visitors each year looking for the perfect pumpkin to carve. Most pumpkin farms grow pumpkins from the tiny jack-be-littles to the giant behemoth pumpkins. You’ll even find pumpkins for cooking the perfect pumpkin pies like the sugar pumpkins. Whatever type of pumpkin your looking for, the pumpkin farms below are sure to please.

Christian Way Farm. This pumpkin farm is probably the most laid-back farm you’ll find anywhere in the United States. The family-owned farm has been up and running for over 11 years and plans to keep on planting year-after-year. With goats, cows, pigs, chickens, corn fields, swings, hay bales, and just about anything else kids love to play with or on, the Christian Way Farm has the perfect setting and atmosphere for visitors to pick pumpkins. Choose from a wide variety of pumpkins in the pumpkin patch or choose one that has already been picked for you. The pumpkin patch is open every Saturday from 10:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening. Bring some extra money to shop in the gift shop before leaving the pumpkin farm located on Linville Road in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Lost Valley Farms. Located in Bremen, Kentucky, Lost Valley Farms is more than just a pumpkin picking farm. It’s a hiking & nature preserve, a florist, an apple orchard, a garden center & nursery, and much more. Visit Lost Valley Farms to have a Fall experience that will surely make memories to last a lifetime. When you come to the farm, plan on giving the corn maze a try before picking pumpkins in their large pumpkin patch. Stock up on lots of garden goodies while your there, as well. ‘R’ Farm U-Pick Pumpkin Patch. The ‘R’ Farm Pumpkin Patch is located on Strode Run Road in Maysville, Kentucky. You’ll have to visit this pumpkin farm during its annual pumpkin festival which is held several weekends during September and October. The pumpkin farm offers hay rides and picking your own pumpkins for an adventurous afternoon. Schedule a group tour or a school field trip to the pumpkin patch. Some events scheduled during the pumpkin festival at the farm includes: a 2-acre corn maze, pig train rides, a trike course, petting zoo, live demonstrations, handmade crafts and, of course, picking pumpkins. Daniel’s Petting Farm & Pumpkin Patch. Visit the down-home feel of Daniel’s Petting Farm & Pumpkin Patch located on a 310-acre farm on Walton Nicholson Pike in Walton, Kentucky. The pumpkin picking farm will be open during the month of October on Saturdays and Sundays only. Weekly group tours are available when scheduled in advance. Admission to the pumpkin farm is $9.00 per person and includes one cup of feed for the petting zoo and a hay ride. Picking pumpkins and pony rides are an additional charge. Uncle Wallace’s Pumpkin Patch. Located at Winders Farm in Mortons Gap, Kentucky, Uncle Wallace’s Pumpkin Patch will be open every weekend (including Friday evenings) beginning the end of September through the end of October. For those wishing to pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch during week days, an appointment will need to be made. Admission to the pumpkin farm is $7.00 per person and includes: hay ride, petting zoo, play area, pumpkin train ride, and choice of pumpkin. Many other kid-friendly activities can be done during your visit at the pumpkin patch, as well.
