Must See: Top Five Movies of 2011

These are the top five movies you must see (if you haven’t done so already) in order to get the full flavor of what cinema had to offer in 2011.

Mission Impossible–Ghost Protocol

It is what an action movie should be: fun, clever and gripping. Mission Impossible 4 makes it look easy, but it has been a long time since an action film captured the true spirit of the genre. Mission Impossible 4 also features Tom Cruise back at the top of his game. Popcorn is a must!

Moneyball

Baseball knowledge is not needed. In fact, no baseball knowledge is preferred for Moneyball. Otherwise, a fan might question why the movie focuses on role players while overlooking the AL Cy Young and MVP on the team. Still, everyone loves an underdog movie and the array of stars, such as Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, nail their roles down beautifully.

Bridesmaids

One of the most anticipated movies of the year was the Hangover 2. However, where the drugged up sequel failed to deliver, Bridesmaid shined brilliantly. It was original, clever, charming and unpredictable. Bridesmaids also has a cast of leading women. Here’s to the new queens of comedy!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2

We knew that there was no other way for the epic tale of Harry Potter to end but with a bang. The final installment of the Harry Potter series met and exceeded all expectations.

The Help

It has been a while since a timepiece movie delivered such a powerful punch, but that is what The Help did. Beautifully cast, beautifully written and emotionally packed. The Help even surpassed the book. It easily the most memorable film of the year.
