Minnesota Vikings 2011 Season Prediction Part 2

This is part 2 in my series of predictions if you have not read part 1 please do, it covers games 1-3. With that said lets get right into it.

Sunday Oct 2nd- Vikings At Kansas City Chiefs
Before the preseason i would have probably picked the Chiefs hands down, i thought they just had to much speed and talent on the offensive side. But after watching there first couple of games in the preseason i just don’t think that their offense will click that soon. I believe that the Chiefs will get off the a really rough start and the Vikings will take advantage of their hard times. Once again we all know that Adrian Peterson will get plenty of carries with the Vikings offense, and i think there will be many more holes open to him because D-Coordinators will have to respect the vikings passing game. The Vikings have plenty of play making receivers, from Percy Harvin all the way down to the second round draft pick Kyle Rudolph. I personally believe that Rudolph has a good chance to be in the running for rookie of the year. The reason being is because McNabb loves passing to his running backs and his tight ends and Rudolph is a extremely talented catcher and runner. He has tight-end size with above tight-end speed. I think the Vikings will surprise some teams early in the season and the Chiefs will be one of the teams that will be shocked by the outcome of this games as Peterson and Gerheart and Booker run all over the Chiefs and get the win 17-7. Vikings record 3-1

Sunday Oct 9th- Arizona Cardinals At Vikings
Well for this game it is pretty simple, it comes down to how Fitzgerald plays. Larry Fitzgerald born and raised in Minnesota has played against the team he use to be ball boy for 4 times, once in 06,08,09, and 10. The Cardinals have only 1 of these 4 meetings and in these four games Fitzgerald averages about 110 yards and 8 catches but there is 1 thing he has only done once against the Vikings and that is score a touchdown. That touchdown came in 09 when they beat the Vikings. So i think that i am going to go with history here and say that Fitzgerald will have about 9 catches for 154 yards and………. 0 Touchdowns. Being a Vikings Homer or not the Cardinals have not beat the Vikings more than once since Fitz joined in 04 and i don’t think Kevin Kobb is better than Kurt Warner and i don’t see them beating the Vikings. With that said Adrian Peterson rushes 32 times for 172 yards and 1 touchdown in a 24-13 win sending the Vikings on a 2 game winning streak and to a 4-1 record.

Sunday Oct 16th- Vikings At Chicago Bears
This is the Vikings first late night game of the season. I guess when Favre is not the quarterback there is no reason for america to watch the Vikings……oh well by the end of the year America will once again remember the Vikings name, and tonight the Vikings will give them a little preview of why. I personally dont think that the bears will repeat as the NFC North champs, I think that they will pull a Vikings a fall the the heavens all the way down to the basement. I don’t think the bears have done enough in the off-season to keep their place. The Packers are still good, the Lions and Vikings have gotten better. The bears really needed to either draft or pick up a big WR and Roy Williams is not that person. I mean when a Bears fan and our President clowns the Bears QB you know you might be a joke. Now I don’t think Jay Cutler is horrible but he is not a top 10 QB in the NFL maybe not even a top 15 QB in the NFL. he cant handle pressure and he overthrows his small receivers all the time. The last time they meet Joe Webb was QB in a snowy cold game at TCF Bank stadium. But with McNabb at QB and Adrian Peterson at maybe his favorite stadium in the NFL the bears are in for a bad day. Peterson will continue to have an all-pro season and run all over the bears. The down side to this game is that McNabb WILL take a few shots during the game thanks to J.Peppers. But the Vikings come out of this game on top 14-10 Peterson finishes with 145 yards and Vikings finish with 254 yards rushing. The Vikings are sitting nice at 5-1 and are two games away from their week 9 bye.
