Inspirational Bible Verses on Living a Christian Life During Hard Times

We are living in dangerous and trying times. Read the bible verses below for inspiration.

Hebrews Chapter 11

Hebrews Chapter 11 is full of great examples of faith. This chapter reminds me that God fulfills his promises. When I feel hopeless and unsure about the future, I read this chapter. It lifts me up and consoles me at the same time. The chapter reviews Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Joseph’s stories of unwavering faith in God’s plan.

Luke 11:5-10

Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat. And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you. But I tell you this-though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

These verses remind me to be persistent in prayer. Keep knocking on the door because God hears you. Knock until you receive an answer. Jesus is also describing the fortitude it takes to make it in this life. We don’t always get what we want or need on the first try. That’s why we must get up after we fail and try again.

Luke 12:22-31

Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?

Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Worrying will not solve your problems. Being concerned about your finances and the rising cost of food won’t bring good into your life. When I start worrying about my finances and how I am going to pay for things, I remember this scripture and turn to God in prayer. The Lord knows our needs better than we do. Turn to the word when hard times get you down and wait on his miracle.

Hebrews 13:5-6

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,

“I will never fail you will never abandon you.”

So we can say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

If God is with me, then who can be against me? God says flat out that he is with you even when creditors are howling at your door. He is with you when your boss keeps giving you a hard time for no reason. God will make you the winner in the end.

Living a Christian life is difficult during hard times, but all you have to do is remember God’s promises of help, support, and love. If you do, God will help you overcome anything that the devil throws at you.
