Hot Holiday 2011 Fisher- Price Toys

Hot Holiday 2011 Fisher- Price toys for 7 year old girls
Seven year old girls are caught between the toddler and the tween years. They yearn to be more grown up and to embrace the technology that their tween and teen siblings do but still love the innocence of dolls and simpler toys. Even at the young age of seven, children spend a lot of time in front of the computer and television. Knowing that, I think it is important to find toys that are not electronic and that can encourage imagination. Here are some top holiday 2011 toys from Fisher- Price, and it’s parent company Mattel, that can be a great purchase for your seven year old girl. You may be surprised how many fun toy options you can find for your seven year old daughter from Fisher Price.

Fisher- Price Doodle Bear

My daughter loves to draw. She doodles on everything from foggy windows to her own arms and legs. I think this is why she was so drawn to the Fisher-Price Doodle Bear. This bear comes in 3 new variations aptly named for their colors; Rose, Sky and Violet. Each bear comes with two double ended marking pens for a total of four different colors. There is also a decorative plastic stencil that allows the girls to trace hearts and other designs on their bears. The bears come in cute little outfits, and are generously sized for a lot of doodling space.

The best thing is once your daughter has filled her bear with her drawings and doodles, the entire bear is washable. My daughter loved the freedom to color and draw what she liked on the bear. She made her bear, Rose, several creative tattoos and drawn on earrings. She also liked decorating the bears clothing and even used it to practice writing her vocabulary words on from her schoolwork. The bear washed well and I was able to dry it easily on the air fluff setting on my dryer. My daughter and I agree, this is a cute and fun toy for creative expression. You can also visit the Fisher-Price website to purchase more washable markers and colorful stampers for your Doodle Bear.

2. Fisher-Price Magical Fairy Dora

Girls have loved Dora the Explorer for years. My daughter is no different; she loves to watch Dora on television. However, I was surprised when she mentioned wanting a Magical Fairy Dora after seeing it in a store advertisement. I was surprised and a little concerned because it is for ages 3 and up, and with my daughter being 7 I was concerned that it would be “babyish” for her and would not really hold her attention. After playing with the doll for several days I have been pleasantly surprised at how much my daughter enjoys this doll. You take the magic wand, wave it in front of the doll and Dora’s colorful magic fairy wings magically open out behind her and she looks like a pretty fairy princess. She also likes to comb Dora’s hair with the included comb and loves the magic of the wand and how it opens the fairy wings. If your daughter loves Dora or fairies in general she will love this doll.

3. 3. Mattel Sing-A-Ma-Jig Duets

Sing-A-Ma-Jigs have been so popular with kids ever since they debuted in 2010 and has even been named Toy of the year for 2011.The cute and colorful characters will open their mouths and sing a little tune as children press their bellies. The faster the kids press them, the faster the sing. Multiple Sing-A-Ma-Jigs placed together will harmonize and “chatter”. New for this year are the Sing-A-Ma-Jigs Duets. The duets double the cuteness and fun with not only one Sing-A-Ma-Jig, but two. A smaller Sing-A-Ma-Jig is attached to the stomach of the larger one. They sing together when their tummies are pressed. My daughter absolutely loved the duets and played with it for hours making it sing faster and then slower, then did it all over again. Allowing the kids to control the speed of the singing adds a really nice interactive quality to the toy. Disney fans should also love the new Sing-A-Ma-Jigs Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls.

4. Fisher-Price Loving Family Beach Vacation Mobile Home

The Loving Family Beach Vacation Mobile Home offers lots of ideas for imaginative play. My daughter loved the colorful details and included accessories. It is important to note that the family characters cannot fit into the mobile home when closed, but this really did not matter to my daughter. She still had a lot of fun playing with this toy. The family figures are not included with the Loving Family Beach Vacation Mobile Home, If you are purchasing this for a gift, make sure you purchase some to go with your gift.

5. Fisher-Price Dora Fashion Dress Up Collection and Doll

The Dora Dress Up Doll features an older and more fashionable Dora the Explorer. In my opinion this is the perfect gift for girls around 7 years old. It looks like they have appealed to the older little girls with this more mature appearing Dora. You wont find her signature t shirt and shorts or her talking backpack here. Dora is dolled up in a fashionable outfit. She features longer brown hair and realistic eyelashes. The Dora doll is large and easy to dress. She comes with a 32 page storybook and extra outfit. Also available are 4 other outfits, sold separately.
The Birthday Fiesta Fashion is an adorable dress, with shoes and other accessories and also features another 32 page storybook included in the package. The School Time Fashion Collection includes yet another storybook and a fashionable outfit perfect for the first day of school. The Beach Adventure Collection has storybook, and a cute sundress and sandals. The Rainy Day Collection features a rain slicker, boots, dress and another storybook. Accessories such as bags, hats etc, are included and vary with each outfit.
This collection is no nice, and the dolls so mature appearing my daughter doesn’t even think of this as Dora. She love changing and mixing and matching the outfits. She also loves reading the included storybooks. The stories are interesting and at 32 pages is the right size for her to read.
