Halloween Decorating: How to Make a Scary Gigantic Bat Out of Garbage Bags

“Holy Bananas Batman, is this a fruit bat or a vampire?” This mammoth bat is incredibly easy to make for a Halloween decorating adventure. And you can hang him practically anywhere, a tree, the front porch, or suspended right inside your front door. The only place I would think twice is inside your car or you couldn’t see out the window. You will add lots of spirit to your Halloween decorating with this spooky bat.

What you will need:

2 Liter Plastic Soda Bottles 2 Large Trash Bags 1 Thin White Plastic Lid Black Electrical or Duct Tape 2 Red Dot Stickers 2 Plain Ordinary Straight Sticks

Starting with the bat’s body, just wrap one of the garbage bags around the plastic bottle and tape with electrical tape. And then you make the ears by bunching a little of the plastic near the end of the bottle on both sides. Then you can wrap the rubber band to secure.

Next, you cut two fangs out of the white plastic and tape them at the mouth, just make sure not to get bit. And then you stick the 2 red dot stickers for the eyes. Now, you have to cut open another trash bag and lay it flat on a hard surface, then cut 2 bat wings out.

Then you lay 1 wing flat and place one stick just above the wing and tape it at 3 spots on the top of the wing, this is the wings support. If your wings are a bit to flappy under the stick from the wind, then you could glue or twist a length of wire to the stick and have the length of the wire hold the wing body down. And then you might want to glue the wire even if you twisted to secure.

And finally you make another similar wing and tape them both to the body. This bat is perfectly simple and makes a great Halloween decorating project.
