Going Green for My New Year’s Resolution

I am basically an environmental nightmare. I wear fur coats, I drive a giant SUV that guzzles gas and I eat meat like a carnivore. I am type A and always in a hurry so I forget the 50 or so plastic bags with the store logo, blazing Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s on the side. I keep them in the back of my giant SUV but always forget them once I am in the grocery and actually shopping. I must have a carbon footprint that would wipe out the debt of Greece. I love to fly, and yes jets are the best and I am on a plane as often as possible. I really hate the Toyota Prius because it has no pick up or acceleration power and gets in the way of my giant SUV. Apparently, I have no “environmental consciousness”. I do plan to change this in the New Year.

The beginning of Going Green:

First, I want to say I think the reusable bags are a great idea. I have actually gotten where if I purchase a small item I walk out of the store with it and the receipt. Who needs another plastic bag to clog up our already taxed landfills? I am committing to use the 50 bags in the back of my SUV to conduct my normal weekly shopping trips. They have long strong handles and are easier to carry items anyway.

I will eat more vegetables because I know they are good for my body. I will ingest more Chlorophyll through the use of wheat grass. Chlorophyll has many medicinal effects on the body. Some of these are; to alleviate blood sugar problems, detoxify and cleanse the body, it can reduce or even eliminate body odors, give relief to people suffering with gastric ulcers, it can kill bacteria in wounds and speed up healing. Chlorophyll can reduce inflammation; improve your bowel functions and sooth painful hemorrhoids. There are so many uses that I can’t even list them all here. I also plan to grow an indoor herb garden for additional herbs and spices to be added to my recipes. I am not going to even pretend that I could manage a garden in my yard. That would be biting off too much too soon.

I think for everyone in America this is the right way to approach GOING GREEN. Use good judgment, try to have a consciousness about the environment and start small. If you think you can go from being a carnivore one week like me to a strict vegan the next week you may fail at all your endeavors.
