Five Verses to Live By

This article is made to encourage and inspire the young and down trodden so to speak. I hope as you read this you realize that you can walk away from what most people call, “just a phase” and go after those true desires you have in your heart! You were born with the potential of greatness now! I am going to share five scriptures and some of my personal experiences to inspire you to call forth your destiny!

1. I Timothy 4:12

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

This is scripture has gotten me through many things now as I approach the ripe old age of 21. First of all, think about this. Paul is writing this letter to Timothy, a pastor in the church at Ephesus. Timothy was only around 14 – 16 years old. Wow! Does that not just blow your mind? This verse is encouragement that he can be a leader even though he is young. In, fact it says to be an inspiration to those elder than you. Yes you, can truly inspire and set an example for those around you that are older.

2. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future

Really….Come on, how awesome is that? God knows exactly what He’s got for you. He’s not making this up as He goes! The best part is His plans are good. God isn’t sitting up in heaven waiting to zap you when you mess up. Instead He is up there cheering you on checking your successes off as you go! So don’t worry God’s got it under control.

3. II Timothy 1:7

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

That Paul sure was a wise one wasn’t he? He let Timothy know that straight up God did not put fear in us. Fear is something from Satan to help uphold his mission to steal, kill, and destroy. Fear leaves us hopeless and unloved. Our God is a God of love and hope not fear and uselessness! This is one of those verses you need to stick in your pocket and carry everywhere you go.

4. Psalms 37:4

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart

This one just about speaks for itself. All the Lord asks of us is to delight in Him and He will give you what you’ve always wanted. Amazing? I think so. Jesus loves us so much that He wants us to have what we desire. For example, I felt a call to go to a ministry school and I told God a list of what needed to happen for me to go. After that I served Him and worshiped and loved on Him and about eight months later here I am a student at Bethel Atlanta School of Supernatural Ministry with everything I asked for! Now what are you waiting for?

5. Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours

Wow. Doesn’t that just refresh you reading it? If the past 4 verses haven’t given you a pick-me-up this one surely will! Think of the possibilities! The power of healing over your friends broken foot? You got it! That promotion you’ve worked so hard for at work? It’s all yours! Notice how it didn’t say it will be yours if you’ve been saved for at least 10 years. This is open to everyone and anyone who calls to the Father and believes!
