Commercials Running Promoting Immunizations. Why?

The commercials running on radio presently, promoting that parents don’t know about the needed immunizations is beginning to wear thin. They depict the women talking to each other about pre-teen children as if the kids themselves dictate when or if they get the shots. Then the ads go on to discuss the shots that most children get the first year of birth as if they didn’t get them and the mothers don’t have a clue they are needed.

There may be many immigrants or illegal people who haven’t been immunized, but none of these children can go to school without them. To say that nine or ten year old’s haven’t had these shots is unconscionable. To put women in the light of ignorance on the subject is even worse. If you have had a child, or even adopted one you know what is suggested for the protection of the child. There are some who opt out of the shots, and that is still a choice in this country of freedom of belief.

The constant bombardment of promoting shots such as HPV virus shots for young preteen girls and boys is wrong. There are no defined side affects as far as long term side effects on these children. The firestorm over Rick Perry’s mandatory signing of a law in Texas, that all the children be vaccinated is drawing these immunizations into the limelight. He has taken grief over it in the campaign that is beginning for presidential candidates. Parents need to research the use of these preventative shots, their long term affects, and then talk to the doctor in regard as to how many and when they should be given. And we also need to step up to the politicians when laws are enacted that may affect many of our people.

I have long held the view that giving these shots in mass does, 5-6 shots or more at a time into the leg of a little three month old is just not right. These children have small bodies, and high immunity at birth, then the body fights these invaders, causing pain, fevers and disturbed sleep for them and the family members. Therefore, there has to be an alterior motive on the part of drug manufacturers. The mothers of small children have been counseled for years about these shots. The ambivalent attitude the ads depict, a mother saying, “let’s do it”, as if she just found out a sale was starting at her favorite mall.

Of course the ads may not be how the discussion would actually transpire, but it reinforces the idea that these kids can’t live without these shots, and the fact that some might kill or make sterile some of the girls, or cause cervical cancer, of which the shot is supposed to prevent, is just offensive period.

Are we really looking at the facts, or letting others run our lives, turning a blind eye. Do not get these shots without research. Protecting our children is of course a must, and there are some shots that offer safety for diseases such as DPT. But they are even calling the shots TDAP, as if no ones knows anything about basic immunizations given at birth. Is there a motive behind the ads. I think there is, and it behooves all who have children to look into everything involved in protection of disease with immunizations and how many and what kind, and often they are to be given.
