Charities that Do Not Fund Testing on Animals

I was shocked and horrified to discover that some of the charities I used to support actually fund testing on animals. I want to donate money that will be used to help people, not harm animals. So I started doing some research, looking for charities that help people in need without injuring or killing any animals in the process. I was delighted to find a long list of acceptable charities that I can feel good about supporting.

If your favorite charities support testing on animals, please consider supporting one or more of these charities instead. They have all earned the Humane Charities Seal of Approval from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Instead of supporting the March of Dimes, you could support Easter Seals. Instead of supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, you could support the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis or the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. Instead of supporting the American Cancer Society or the National Children’s Leukemia Foundation, you could support the American Breast Cancer Foundation, the Cancer Recovery Foundation of America or the Childhood Leukemia Foundation. You get the idea.

Here is a list of charities that do not fund testing on animals. If you donate to these charities, you know your money will be used to help, not to harm.
