Campaign promises are made everyday
By those who claim to know most
But who instead stand in the way
They have big claims about changes
That they plan to enforce
In Medicaid, healthcare, education
And in everyone’s house
No need to turn the channel
No need to endure
Because every candidate
Has the perfect cure
Pay taxes now,
Pay taxes later
Tax the rich
No tax the poor
All will agree
That we must
Ignore
Empty promises
That are made
Before getting into
Office
Because most who win
Are equal novices
Friend, listen carefully
To campaign promises
Remember this advice
When you get to the
Caucuses
Take all declarations
With a grain of salt
Since all campaign promises
