During Adam Lambert’s brief time in the national spotlight he has raised nearly a million dollars for charity. The “Peace Pendant” from Pennyroyal Studio, benefiting the Trevor Project, is bringing Adam Lambert closer to becoming a million dollar benefactor. As part of the panel on Scott Katz’s US Town Hall Roundtable this week I was able to get an update from our special guest, the founder and designer of Pennyroyal, Tim Foster. Click here to hear the podcast. This is not the first time Foster has paired up with Adam Lambert to create beautiful jewelry to benefit a great cause.
In 2009 Lambert teamed with Foster to create the “Eye of Horus Pendant” which was fashioned from a sketch Lambert drew of his first tattoo. That pendent raised $32,000 for MusiCares.
In 2010 Lambert and Foster joined in creating the “Infinity Pendant” which represented Lambert’s second tattoo. The “Infinity Pendant” raised over $43,000 for DonorsChoose.
“My infinity tattoo really represents what life is like for me at this stage. It is all about energy and the energy I get from my fans. When I am onstage and the fans feed me their enthusiastic energy, I am able to feed off of it and give it right back to them…it’s all about the energy flow.”
There is no doubt that Adam Lambert’s amazing energy has transformed hearts and minds around the globe. The “Peace Pendant” designed to benefit “The Trevor Project” is not a replica of a Lambert tattoo but is a symbol of a state of mind. Lambert states:
“I believe that peace is exactly what The Trevor Project promotes. Peace of mind, peace amongst our youth, and peace at home. With peace comes comfort and grace and that is my wish for ALL.”
Tim Foster told us that there are special prizes being offered on his website when certain goals are reached. They are all exciting but the Grand Prize, when $75,000 is raised is:
“Tim from Pennyroyal will fly to your city (anywhere in the world), take you and 5 of your friends to dinner and present this secret prize to you. (prize to be announced later)”
This “secret prize” has to be Adam Lambert related. What can it be? Could it be the man himself? What great PR that would be! This is a great project for a worthy cause. Not only is it benefitting “The Trevor Project” the limited edition jewelry will be collector’s pieces for generations to come as the irrepressible Adam Lambert takes his place as the iconic star of this generation.
