A Winter Walk

Stepping onto the snow covered paths,
Oh the forest crisp winter wind is blowing
Into my face,
I shiver,
Pulling my jacket tighter around me as I zip it up,
There is the glare of Christmas lights to my back,
Breaking into a run,
I hurry through the once grassy passages,
Now covered in a powdery white snow,
Tiny white flakes flutter into my eyes,
As I run,
The cold breeze making my chest and throat sting,
From the coldness of early day,
The sun begins to rise,
Dimming the twinkle lights that don the house side,
Swiftly darting through the snow covered path,
The crunching of frozen leaves under my feet,
I hurry along,
Skidding to a stop In the middle of the path,
I smile,
As my dogs go speeding past.
