If you have ever bought any of the gift ideas listed below when they weren’t on a gift list, shame on you. These are some of the worst gift ideas you could give at anytime for any occasion.
Gift Packs
Unless specified as something the person you are giving the gift pack to avoid them at all costs. In most instances, there will be one to two items in a gift pack that will be used. In some cases, none of the items will be used ever. I never have liked giving or receiving gift boxes or baskets because of the reasons mentioned. Besides, the types of gifts are thoughtless.
Underwear
Seriously if you consider giving any form of underwear as a gift by itself, that’s just so wrong on so many levels. Cute socks aren’t so bad as a stocking stuff for the little girls, but the boys would rather not have something in their stocking. Just forgo the panties, boxers, briefs, and bras and put in an apple because all of them will get you the look of death.
Holiday Dishes
Seriously, holiday dishes are the best you can do? Christmas dishes can only be used in a short period and boxing them back until next year is even worse than the gift itself. If you feel the need to buy someone a new set of dishes, make sure they can be used more than a 30 day period. If a candy dish can be used for three to four months out of the year, that’s fine. Besides, candy dishes can be stored easier than a set of dinner dishes.
Cheap Small Appliances
The recipient of the cheap toaster oven can buy their own any time of the year. If you really feel the need to get someone a small appliance like a mixer, check before buying. You may be surprised they have six hand mixers in the hall closet.
Ugly Holiday Sweaters
No, I don’t need a sweater with Santa on it. Any ugly holiday sweaters can be left in the store. I won’t wear them. They will hang in my closet until the mice eat them. If the mice won’t eat them, they will hang there until I either throw it away or give it to Goodwill.
