Winter Wonderland

Winter Surprise

Roll it around, then pat it real tight;
Forming a ball that’s both cold and white.
Two more balls is what you’ll need
If you’re determined to finish this deed.
Stack them all up, on top of each other;
You may need help from your friend,
Or brother.
Almost done. . . . . now add a mouth, nose,
And eyes.
Look what you’ve made. . . . . a snowman.
Surprise!!!

Sledding

Cold, and white, the snowflakes fall.
Covering everything; short and tall.
Bundling up, we go outside
With sled in hand to slip and slide.
Down the hill we glide with ease,
Screaming and laughing as we please.
Tired and weary, we lay in the snow
With no more energy left to get up and go.

Waiting for Winter

Rabbits tucked deep down in their den;
Waiting for Old Man Winter again.
Squirrels burying acorns under the tree;
Not knowing how deep the snow will be.
People filling bird feeders in their yard;
Hoping this winter won’t be too hard.
Children counting the sleds in the store;
Praying for snow…..six inches, or more!
