The Three Views of the Upcoming Seven Year Tribulation Period

The Pre-Tribulation View is held by most Christians around the world. It is the belief that all believers will be raptured or taken to heaven before the seven year tribulation period. There are some that believe in the Mid-Tribulation View which means that Christ will return halfway through the tribulation period. Very few believe in the Post-Tribulation View which means that Jesus will come back after the Tribulation period.

The seven year Tribulation period is when God will pour His wrath upon the earth. I have always believed in the Pre-Tribulation View because this is what I have always been taught since I was a child. As I got older and I studied Scripture myself, this made even more sense to me.

When I was younger, at times I would hear people talk that had a different view than I did. My response to them was that I did not think that the Tribulation period is for Christians. Why would God punish His people and pour out His wrath upon us? We did not choose to reject Him or His son, Jesus. So, why should we go through it?

Recently, I read an article and the writer also held a Pre-Tribulation View. He said something that made a lot of sense. He said if we were meant to go through the tribulation period, then Jesus would not have given us signs to look out for His coming. What would be the purpose of Him doing that if we were going to be here for the Tribulation?

For some time, I did not see the importance of believing in any of these three views. I figured that it really did not matter what people believed as long as we would just be ready when Jesus did return. As time went on, I realized that it really does make a world of difference. Many believe the rapture is imminent and we are all comforted that one of these days we will be with Jesus and our loved ones who have gone before us. All of life’s problems and struggles will be over. If I thought that I was going to be here for all of it or even part of it, I would not be at peace right now knowing what lies ahead. I am in perfect peace that God will spare His children from His wrath.

What we are seeing now is just the beginning of sorrows. This is nothing compared to what is coming. Jesus did say that we would see and hear certain things happening right before His coming. Jesus comforts us and gives us a blessed hope that we will be spared the full wrath. No one knows the day or the hour when Jesus will return, but the Bible tells us that we will know when the time is near by the many signs that He gave us. The signs are now happening and Christ’s return is very near.

Not too long ago we had a guest speaker come to our church. He said that some Christians believe that we will be here for the tribulation. He said, “You can stay here if you want, but when I hear that trumpet sound, I’ll be out of here.”

I am looking forward to Christ’s soon return. It is very imminent according to the Bible. Local and world news cannot get any worse. All signs have been fulfilled. We have seen earthquakes galore in the past few months and very strange weather patterns. Matthew 24 describes it all and the book of Revelation tells all about the Tribulation period. I thank God everyday that I will not be here for it. Jesus is about to return and this is going to be a catastrophic event for all those left behind. Now is the time to get right with God and spread the news of His love before Jesus returns.
