Dash through the chilled streets of Downtown Minneapolis, MN and fend off Friday’s inevitable food guilt with ease. Lifetime’s Turkey Day 5K is one of the most well-attended Thanksgiving Day events in the Twin Cities metro area. Nearly 15,000 participants take to a course that weaves through downtown’s most scenic areas: Gold Medal Park, the Guthrie Theater, City Hall and the Mississippi River.
It’s not too late to join. Registration is open until November 22nd. There goes your excuse, because race day registration is also available from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. inside the Target Center. Oh, so now you admit it, you abhor running. Be a volunteer! Volunteers are needed for start/finish line, family activities, and registration.
Registration is $30 for adults ($20 for Lifetime Fitness members) and $20 for kids under 17. Race day registration is $40 for adults and $25 for kids under 17.
The race starts promptly at 8 a.m. and has some great post-race activities including a kids carnival ($5 admissions) and pie-eating contest. All around a lively Thanksgiving Day event for the whole family.
